Yeah, thats a toughie there Grim... wow... I see how those are exactly alike.

Obama - State Senator gets into Congress, 2 months later his wifes hospital gives her a promotion that roughly triples her income, raisng it by about $200k, then on the next round of earmarks he tries to throw $1 million earmark their way and gets shut down. His response is he shoulda had a different senator try to get the money for his wifes employer.

    Palin -
State governor asks for a huge earmark that benefits commercial fishing industry in a state that employs a few commercial fisherman (Alaska accounts for 1/3 of the commercial fishing income in the US), an industry which drives their fish processing industry, which employs huge numbers within the processing part. plus the construction workers that build them, and the subsidiary industries that serve them. Additionally the state has many subsistence fisherman and a substantial sport fishing industry. Oh yeah... and her husband is in that industry.

Yeah... those seem the same. LOL. I vote we make both headline items on CNN and see what the public thinks.

    MAKING IT MATCH
If Obama had sought an earmark for the Hospital industry instead of the place that employs his wife, or Palin had sought a subsidy for her husbands boat, maybe there's a parallel. People might still wonder about the timing of the raise, but you'd have an argument.

Grim, you say you dont favor either candidate, but if Obama gets herpes, watch yourself for cold sores. ;)

I don't think that some money to the salmon industry in Alaska has the appearance of impropriety like the case of Obama requesting a direct earmark to the Hospital that employs her and gave her a 3x salary increase.

I also doubt that some more money to Alaskan commercial fishing industry was going to make Sarah Pallins husband be able to catch more fish.

Did I say they were exactly the same? No I did not.
Ahh nice avoid the fact that a lawyer could make much more elsewhere, and the fact that a University Hospital is a prime candidate for 'earmarks' yeah those 'facts' sure are scary.
Again did I say I had a problem with it? Yet here you are actively trying to dismiss it. Fact is her husband is a Salmon fisherman and she tried to get an earmark 25x that of Obama.
Sure why not. If either can be proven foul play was at work, of which case I don't think either were.
Ahh but the attempted earmark was 25x that of Obama making the 'industry angle' kind of mute.
Oh so now it's 'favor' I thought I 'supported' him.

I call facts as I see them, I hold McCain to a higher level as I once supported him, the old McCain not this new creation of a man.

Fact remains I call crap when I see it on either side. Fact remains I think both stink, fact remains I am not voting for either.

Thought this would stir up the McCain cult.

John McCain and Sarah Palin are the self proclaimed agents of change, and are going to shake up the system. He has sworn to shake things up and protect us from special interest groups and lobbyist that control Washington for their own personal gain.

Why then does he have 30 lobbyist running his campaign ?

    The list.

    My Spin.

How is that change ? Where will these people go if Mccain is elected ?

    I expect a slew of ,
"Yeah but Barack Obama did this" and "Barack Obama said that.." in defense of McCain employing a team of all lobbyist.

Not one Health and Human services person.
    Not one Economist.
    Not one Military Leader.
Not one Black, Asian, or other ethnic person. (although there seems to be 2 hispanics)
Not one other Senator, Congressman, Ex-President.
    Not one Foreign Relations Person.

    All Lobbyist !

Your not allowed to spell out the truth on Obama. It's wrong. He went to Harvard and is a great speaker. Let's not forget about his hygiene. He is clean.

You're not allowed to spell, apparently, since it's "you're" and not "your." :D

I know it's gonna be tough, bub, but best prepare yourself for it - your worst nightmare appears more and more likely. McCain's campaign is imploding, and we've yet to see Sister Sarah, the "dancin' fool," in her first debate.

Looks like the new McCain strategy for a big campaign shake up is to pray (force) Bristol Palin to have her shotgun wedding during October. That should buy McCain and Palin at least a week of press where their incompetence is not the issue but rather their strong "family values". It looks like they are waiting until Bristol turns 18 in October to pull the stunt.

If the future of our country was not potentially in Sarah Palin's hands this would be a lot more humorous.

Maybe it was a republican plan or strategy to have her to become pregnant to garner more votes.

    Speaking of fools...
I was just watching Obama speak and he said "If you believe that... I've got a bridge to sell you in Alaska"... (conveniently not mentioning he and Biden are the only ones running that actually voted FOR that bridge in Congress). LOL. What a disingenuous schmuck.

    Fun With Math
As for our "worst nightmares" coming true... Obama IS leading in the polls currently, but frankly the worst nightmares coming true could only happen if he wins in the one poll that counts in November. If he wins that one, it will be fun to come back and point out some were apparently incapable of even envisioning the nightmare of taxes going up as they probably will, on everyone, not just the people some wish they'd hit.

The ability to put the programs he's promised in place without increasing taxes is pretty much nil unless he owns a wand... Congress is rushing headlong toward a huge new socialized debt program (with Nancy Pelosi in the lead, calling House Republicans "unpatriotic" for not wanting to use taxpayer funds to bail out the idiots that got us in this mess). If this bill passes thank the DNC, they have the ability to say yea or nay.

Whether these funds are used to bail out the numbnuts that made loans to people that couldnt pay, or used to bail out idiots that asked for loans they couldnt pay... it isnt the taxpayers job either way... unless it'd be your job to cover my gambling debt because I went to the Mirage and got stomped by Doyle Brunson at poker. I dont recall any of the affected parties offering to give the profits to the taxpayers if things had gone the other way.

    ACORN funding
Be interested in seeing if the "non-partisan" (?) ACORN Group's funding stays in that bill. The Obama campaign paid them $800k and theyve endorsed him, theyve been cited for voter fraud multiple times... but they have a nice chunk of money coming in this bailout.

Debate: Like in Days of Gore... Which Palin Will We See?
The campaign has mis-handled the Palin factor by limiting her access too much initially... and this may be the first time an election lives or dies based on how a VP debate goes. It'll depend on which Palin shows up... the tough wench that took down entrenched opponents in a 3 way race for governor or the one that's been presented to the public. The one that was elected governor could hold her own if not just suck Biden into making an ass of himself... the one thats been mishandled by her own camp could get stomped. I'll look forward to seeing which one shows up.

We saw that same thing when Gore was debating, we got a different guy each time. As this campaign is running short on time, she better bring the good one to the first match.

That video was one of the most cringe-worthy displays of lameness i have ever seen.

I'm looking forward to her debate, it's going to be the final nail in the coffin, Which is probably an uncomfortable metaphor for old man johnny mac.

it's embarrassing to see people still root for palin and pretend that she is suitable for the job, it's obviously just because of partisan loyalty and it must destroy them inside every time they have to defend this incompetent, inept air-head publicly.

Even rats know when to jump a sinking ship.

It does not matter if Biden came out drunk, naked, and wearing a klan hat, and yelling racial slurs about obama during the debate. The crowd in the forum would say"Biden is superior. Biden won the debate."

    Obama is a clean ______ _______.

    You gotta love the left.

Why would you assume something like that.

McCain, his VP and his campaign speaks for itself. No need for "the left" to do anything at this point except sit back and watch. You should be mad at him and his campaign staff full of lobbyist. We didn't create all the bone head moves and tactics (not strategies).

McCain is helping me right now and I love him for it...he and Palin are responsible for some good traffic over the last few weeks, So he is certainly helping out my economy.:)

Sure Biden has his flaws, we all do, but that statement is just ridiculous, probably from frustration.
