Hi, I was just wondering: I have a global website (.com) and it's hosted in Ireland. Would it be better from google point of view if it was hosted let's say in the USA? Thanks.
Hosting server dose not matter for Google, unless you want to rank for local google servers.. In that case you should even host your website on a server located in the same country of the targeted local server of google, nor get more backlinks from the same domain extension. After all you can simply target Google local servers using the WMT
I am not sure what WMT means in this context - it is the ticker symbol for Wal-Mart Stores, Inc, but I don't think that's what IEmailer.com meant!
Yeah The Stealthy One, before I asked what WMT was I just googled it and just got Wal-Mart Stores ha ha!
Your welcome, WMT stands for Google Webmasters Tools: http://www.google.com/webmasters/tools However, you need to have a Google account to login.. after that verify your website and check it out
I actually have a WMT (just wasnt familiar with the abbreviation) account. Just checked it and indeed, you can set a geographic target there. It's under: tools --> set geographic target. Cheers!
I have a .ca website hosted in canada, but my website's subject is more aimed toward u.s.a. users, so I hope google doesn't penalize me in the u.s. serps because of that, that would be unfair
