Was working on this project for rapid07, but I'm abandoning it because quite frankly his attitude isn't worth the budget.

Initially, he gave me a image file describing the steps the developed application needed. It had to browse for rar files already on the server, let the user select one, extract it onto the server, add new files, and re-zip it together, optionally with a password.

He couldn't use the PHP rar module, as his host didn't support it, so I was creating a PHP shell around the command line rar executable, using exec() commands to extract/rar the sets of files. The problem was that he wasn't very specific in his initial description, and I believe he's in India, so it made communication very difficult as we've both been busy with school.

That isn't why I'm abandoning the project though. Basically, my current prototype is not correct. He apparently wanted an intermediary page to see the extracted files, and be able to access them. He wanted another intermediary page to upload specific files to the rar (I assumed it was the same files for all rars). He wanted another intermediary page to define the password for the new rar, rather than just the first page like I had planned.

The main issue is that he gave me a huge attitude for not getting it right, when I didn't have the proper details to begin with. It was essentially condescending that I assumed certain things about the program flow, without proper documentation telling me otherwise. He refuses to negotiate on the price when the changes required will take more time, and are more involved than my original quote. I've usually not had a problem with changing requirements before, but I'm not going to bother changing something up for no additional cost when the client is essentially implying I'm an idiot for working as best I could with limited details.

The code I wrote can sit on my disk unused until such a time in the future that I require something similar. He can find another person who wants to put up with the attitude. Not me.
