htaccess problem, $5 or hosting reward

This code doesn't work in my htaccess:

RewriteEngine On

Options +FollowSymlinks

RewriteRule ^(.*)/$ index.php?qstr=$1
RewriteRule ^(.*).htm$ index.php?qstr=$1
