Hi, My website is http://www.stanschipdip.com . I've been getting a good number of visitors (1,163 since 9/7/08) but no requests for a free sample or orders. Please help me fix what is wrong.
Wow, 1,163 uniques and no buyers? No one even requested a free sample? Maybe you are in a bad niche, where people don't feel comfortable buying your type of products online. Do you have any competitors? Usually having competitors is a good thing, it shows there's money to be made.
You have not added much info about concept. Second put some more sample example to hold visitor. Put some interesting content to insist people to place an order. One more thing i would like to ask you is on which keyword are you getting traffic. If it is targeted Keywords then you need to concentrate on your website structure and implement some Idea which hold User. If it is not targeted keyword then the traffic has no use. you need to implement right key word which can represent your website services.
You've not made any attempt to SELL it - what does it taste like? what are some of the ingredients? how is it better than any other dip I could buy or make? what can I eat it with? how about some recipes or serving ideas? Make me want to taste it!
I did a search for "chip dip" congrats on being on the first page. Bad news though, I didn't see any advertisers that's doing what you seem to be trying to do. Sorry it seems like a bad niche. Move on.
Hey Larry, I don't wonder why you aren't get orders. List of lacks: - less info, it isn't good if buyers need to quess - indistinct, unreadable content (font + size) - fuzzy pictures - weak USP and call to action - what is in it for me? - why is worth it for me to go there? - why is it unique? Hope it helps, Sandor
Your page is not attracted people to get the new samples. I will suggest you get a expert website designer to re-design your website.
The site doesn't sell the product. You need to show what people are getting for their money. Show the product as the customer will receive it. Show happy people enjoying the taste. A video would work wonders if you can put this together.
Maybe traffic you got has no interest to goods you sell, they are searching for a text information but you try to sell.
Your landing page absolutely sucks. Frankly the guys face on the top of the page looks like a pedophile and the website looks like it was made in 1997. Combine that with the fact that people don't buy chip dip over the internet, and if I got a free sample from that website I would be worried it contained poison. Forget about making sales on your page, just make it a basic advertisement and information page and let people buy the stuff at the supermarket.
wow free samples when i'm hungry I'll fill it out. But what am i getting? do you have it packaged? if so why is there no pictures of your product? or am i just going to get it in a plain plastic container if it is packaged for retail place some pictures of it on site also some pics of chips stuck in your dip would be appitizing aswell as i said i'm hungry lol but i don't see anything there to wet my appitite. Your order page has pictures next to the items that have nothing to do with the products aswell You need help! Do the barter system! hang out at your local computer repair shop for about 3 days they will get the hint and take pictures for you for free to get rid of you lol i know as im a tech, your web can be upgraded doing the barter send free samples lol looking through your image directory i found your hobby button changed it to.. very easy to do and i'm sure someone could redo your whole site for some of your product but it would prob be best if you did it locally as i said stop by your computer repair shop they normally have people there knowlagable about this stuff and you can work on it together
Without repeating everything that has been said, I think that you need to think through the design and layout of your site along with the copy... Its not at all attractive, compelling and leaves the visitor with no sense that they can trust you, even with their most basic information. This is a visitors first impression, make a good one. I suggest a site redesign (maybe use an open source program like Drupal) and focusing the home page on an offer. Also, consider testing some keywords to see which ones convert through a program like Google Adwords. Wow. Trying to sell chip dip on the internet? Never even entered my mind as a lucrative market. If you're absolutely determined to sell "chip dip" you do need a unique selling point as mentioned because if I were ever to type chip dip into a search engine I'm sure as hell not looking for a chip dip store. I'm looking for recipes. Probably why you don't see advertisers for that key phrase.
I agree with most of the other comments made. You also may not have gotten as many new or unique visitors as you think. Depending on where you're getting your stats from, some of those may be you, your friends, etc., and may include multiple visits by the same person. Also, your visitors may not be the kind of people you want to attract: people who are actually looking to BUY chip dip. If you're doing any pay-per-click, be sure to track your results and target your keywords to your niche. I also agree that you need to show your products in their packaging. When I see that tray of dip, I think you just mixed it in your kitchen and are going to send me a sample in a baggie or plastic restaurant container or something. I'm not even sure if you've followed standard sanitation/licensing procedures for the sale of food products... If I'm going to eat it, you need to convince me that I can trust you to send me a safe product. I'm not even sure you need to offer a free sample - it's not an expensive product to start with, so price is probably not going to be a primary factor in your customers' buying decision. It almost makes you look desperate. If you do keep the free sample, make the 'free sample' image a link. Nothing happened when I clicked on it until I went to the link in the sidebar. I agree you could use some professional assistance. Good luck!
Why would I, as a visitor, buy dip from some guy over the Internet, when I can just go to the store and choose bewteen several varieties? There's your main problem right there.
I don't know that's the case. I don't remember the URL but I remember coming across one lady selling only salsa on her site and doing very well, thousands per month even. Visitors and no buyers is the story of my life. My iPhone Alchemy site was getting hundreds of uniques per day. Still gets close to 200. I had gotten a couple of write ups and good reviews on other sites. A lot of interest. Thousands of downloads of the free sample. Had a beautifully integrated OS Commerce store. Not one sale.
I think you should review your website, check all the details and if it really needs redesigning, then do it. But I just checked your website, and I personally don't like it, no hard feelings, it's not interesting at all...
