I vote yes. there are always multiple PR update threads, why do people need to keep starting new ones? It is a disease in this forum that people dont read what's written in current threads before replying to the first post, nor read the other threads before starting new ones. no warnings, people who start lame-ass duplicate threads should be immediately banned I say.
Preposterous. Not everyone is as prime as everyone else at forum reading - get off your high horses and help the people who trust you to help. Can't hurt anything, in fact, it only helps spread you around... A warning would suffice *IF* they are told about forum etiquette, but even then, don't give people infractions for that, just teach them in the topic and lock it. A few repeat offenses could constitute a ban, though.
the problem you have here is that the people who know the score get so fed up with the perpetual never-changing behaviour that they end up leaving, and then you have a forum full of the clueless ones. i can hardly be bothered to answer anything anymore because there are only so many times you can say the same thing again and again to endless people who never read the damn threads anyway call it tough love. people would quickly learn and maybe then the disease of not reading a thread before replying with nonsense, and not checking to see if the same thing has already been said fifteen times before writing it yet again would be cured. if it were my forum I would delete the thread and ban immediately. its only here that this happens so much, i dont see it nearly as much any where else
You are right. + When you look at the thread that has 100+ pages it says only one thing - ITS OLD. Maybe not updated, who knows. You don't have to check every single thread and see if its a live to post your question. Also, who are you to judge ? If it makes you mad, than find new "perfect" forum. "Not everyone is as prime as everyone else at forum reading - get off your high horses and help the people who trust you to help." lol NICE
The best is to warn the thread starter, i quess? Maybe DP admins will merge, delete, or simply remove multiply threads?
The Google section of this forum is one that I, as well as many others. frequently visit. However, during the PR updates, I avoid this section like the plague. As well as the stupid threads asking "Is there a PR Update on ... ", I get really sick of all the stupid replies on the threads such as ... "PR update is finished", "My site is went from PR0 to PR1". Why do people post such stupid and pointless replies ?? Unless a member of the Google team comes along and tells us "Yes, the update for September is now complete", who really cares or wants to read the opinion of someone else as to when the update will start or stop. Can't we have a new subsection for PR in the Google section. Anyone posting anything PR related outside of that should be banned and spoonfed dog food for a month !! OK - rant over - back to searching through the piles of PR crap to read some "Proper" Google threads.
There should be just 1 thread about PR. Members can keep posting as much as they want it in that thread. There is no need to make a new thread every time toolbar PR is updated.
Personally I'm hoping that everyone of the 209,112 members starts a new thread to tell me what their new PageRank is. Because I won't be able to sleep until I know the url of every PageRank 2 site on the internet.
I think if there is one PR related sticky thread, and all people only use it, when ever there is any PR update, then that will be very nice. And a warning will be enough
This kind of thread, i.e. a thread complaining about PR update threads is also very common at the time of PR updates. It's also repetitive.
No they should not be banned.... They should be wrapped in white sheets, buried up to their waists and stoned from all directions by a random crowd of people only joking.
I think the mods should warn them and the second time there shold be a ban. There should be only 1 thread about PR change.
as for banning me there's no need. i cant remember the last time learnt something here and cant stomach the cesspit of a site it's turned into now anyway. happy duplicate threading muppets
