And get my commisions with paypal and i live in US. Do i need to report it to IRS or am i ok with not reporting? And My Affliate network is not located in the US so it does not asked me to fill any forms
I don't know what the cap to US earnings are before you are taxable. If the exemption is till for eg. $50,000 per year, then you needn't report it.
Federal Income Tax legality not withstanding... You need to report income over $600. I'd have records handy since most US based companies will file a 1099 for you. ASE Adnet does this for its US publishers. They usually ask for a filled W-9 form.
Hmmm very good earnings, I am not US resident so i don't know with IRS etc. But can you share how you can earn 2k a month..?
I am thinking if you make less than $5,000 a year then there is nothing to file but anything above that amount you must claim and file on.
ya sure why not. If you guys can share your method to me too then ill be more than willing to share mine. But still haven't clear this IRS headache. Hope someone here can help me out. Thank you
Lonelyguy, you need to pay taxes on ANY income you receive what so ever (especially PayPal). Check this out: "The U.S. Internal Revenue Service can ask paypal for information on some of its customers as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected tax evasion, a federal court ruled on Tuesday. different story here https://www.thepaypalblog.com/2008/08/proposed-irs-reporting-requirements-become-law/ and also the link you gave me is very old like 2 years ago
Why don't you just call IRS and ask them? They will give you the right answer. That way you wont get in to any trouble.
The person who picked up the phone prob wouldn't know much about the internet anyway so he/she prob cant help me.
LOL, that's like saying the person at McDonalds wont understand your order unless you go inside, really man? Call them, it's there job to know everything about taxes and what not in the US.
I am not a US citizen, but genrally you need to earn income tax on whatever way you earn money. Affiliate system being non us based, they may not ask you - it is your resposibility. It doesnt matter if you earn it over internet or by working at a local company. I dont think any govt will give option like"anything earned on net is not taxable". You need to be realistic and responsible, no silly excuses like person @ IRS "prob cant help me".
You "need" to report all income over $600.00 (which you obviously have). Notice need is in quotes because no one is forcing you too, however, it is a felony (tax evasion) if you don't. So you would end up paying obviously alot more if you dont (jail, fee's, etc.).
