Yahoo Directory Penalized?

    I think it finally happen.:D
    Seems like Google just got to know that Yahoo directory is selling links to get listed in their directory and decided to penalize its PR.
    Now dir.yahoo.com seems to be PR4?
    or is it just me using SEOquake

    But using Check Page Rank the result is a PR8
    Anyone care to verify which tool is correct?:p

    Well the toolbar shows PR8, so it must be PR8 then. Maybe it was a bug or something in SEOQuake?

    Its PR 8 for dir.yahoo.com at my PC as well. It looks like there is some problem in SEOquake, that's why you are shown PR 4 for PR 8 website.

    That's funny because last year Google (and Matt Cutts) recommended the Yahoo Directory as a backlink. I just tried finding the article but I can't.

    We can just wish I guess.:p Yahoo will de-index all Google's result if their directory is penalized.lol..
    $300USD x 1000 submission per month = 300K per month of free money.

    As far as I can see it's still PR8 (using this extension for Firefox: http://www.quirk.biz/searchstatus/).
    However I will be very happy to see it PR4 on the next PR update (which seems to be coming soon?) :D

    It's PR8 and I doubt Google will ever penalize the Yahoo! Directory even if they charge people for reviewing/adding their links :eek: :eek:
