How do I find the category ID numbers

    How do I find the category ID numbers in wordpress 2.6.2

    the older versions were easy to find. I have a theme that used cat ids for the front page and I cant locate ID's ..aghh. LOL

    The categories don't display automatically in the theme? Somebody didn't code it well. You should be able to get them in Manage - > Categories. I believe on the left side is the ID of each category.

    haha its unusual way :D
    Go to Manage -> Categories. Point your mouse to category item and look at the browser status bar. It will say "http://yourblog.com/wp-admin/categories.php?action=edit&cat_ID=XXX"

    cat_ID=XXX -> is your category ID
    hope it'll help :D
