How does Google deteremine if your Ezinearticle will rank on the first page for your keyword phrase? Is it the title of the article, age of domain and/or article, competition of the sites on first page, pageviews on ezinearticles, etc. I can submit one article on one topic and it can be on page 1 in like a day while another article can be on page 5 after like 3 months. Sometimes I will have an article stuck on page 2 of Google and won't move forward to page 1. Is there anything I can optimize to get ezinearticles ranking on the first page for it's keyword phrase? I've tried to determine what factors it could be, but I've come to a conclusion that there is not one factor. I've seen articles on Ezine get like 10K views in month, but when you do a search for that keyword in Google, that article is back on page 7 while another article that got 1/5 of pageviews is on page 1. Why is that for some 3 word keyphrases there are no ezinearticles in first 10 pages in Google, but there are many articles listed in Ezinearticles for that niche?
It really depends a lot on the competitiveness of each niche. In some niches, the current ranking websites have enough links/authority to outrank any ezinearticles pages. Sometimes an ezinearticles page also gets a lot of external links which helps it rank high. Of course there are also on page factors such as keyword use.
So how does Google distinguish between two Ezinearticles with one being on page 1 and the other is on page 7? For one particular keyword phrase the one on page 1(#4) was submitted to Ezine back in June and the other one that is on page 7 is like a year old. I looked at both articles and it seems that the one on page 7 has a better title than one on page 1. So in this example would it be how each of the articles are written and like keyword density? I checked the backlinks for both and the one on page 1 shows 5 inlinks and on page 7 it shows 8 inlinks.
