Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Aug 21, 2008.

    History: about 6 weeks of traffic dying to a crawl for a site that was doing great.

    Webmaster tools says:

    Home page crawl: Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Aug 21, 2008.

    Although sitemap has been submitted since.

    Under HTTP Errors I am seeing it gives me an error for my home page.
    General HTTP error Detected on September 11

    I see or know of no problems for home page.

    Any help? Are these things related to traffic dying?

    If Googlebot is having some kind of problem with your homepage, the would explain the last of crawling. Have you changed anything on the site between when it was doing great and when it started to die off? Also how new is this website?

    Honestly I do not think I have adjusted anything. The site is at least 5 years old.

    Could someone with experience look at it and see a probelm?

    whats your sitemap url?

    in many cases i have seen its just syntax error on the sitemap file.

    Been told sitemap looks ok. I deleted it and resubmitted it hoping it may get better results.

    So, anyway of getting someone to look at my home page to see if you candiscern any problems?
