Where do I start..... I consider myself to be an intelligent guy who helped many people start their online business and succeed, but this I can't figure out. My website www.HotBuckles.com was on top of the most important search for its niche "belt buckles" for more than a year. After losing the 1st spot about 3 months ago I have been doing anything with goggles’ rules and regulation (blog comments, articles, one way links, onsite opt' and etc') to regain the top position again but unsuccessfully... Is there anything I am missing? Please help....
hmm, interesting. Can you tell us what your previous promotion efforts were. You have over 8,000 links pointing to your site according to yahoo, how did you gain them?
I sponsored competitions, have a page on almost all the social neworking sites, forum links, onsite anchor text and blog comments...
I am surprised bucklecity (your competitor) has got sitelinks too. I don't think there is much different between them and you though. I think you need some fresh links to get at the top, it should not be that difficult
Their are on top with extra ommited results... We have much more links and many more pages so it's not a close call... Just can't figure out what we are doing wrong...
get a tool like backlinks master to check the proportion of links pointing to bucklecity contain "belt buckles" it could be higher than yours.
I said it could be. I haven't personally checked. You say he has bought links? Are you sure? If so regaining your rank could be quite easy, simply log into your google webmasters account (get one if you haven't got one) and use the spam report form to report all the links you know are paid. Google will check over and either ban him or filter out the paid links. Hopefully enough to place him below you.
Did it a few months back but still no results from that, these are few of them: grandparagon.com embedds.com and many more
Hmmm... I dunno brother. Your site seems superior in many ways, especially in your article and news section. I can offer a few little pieces of advice though, that might give you a little bit of extra SEO juice. 1) Link your banner logo to your index page (make it clickable) and do it through the use of a header tag. That way this will be the first thing the webspiders see. Your competitor isn't even using a header tag, which is a little strange. 2) See if you can move some keyword-laden content more toward the top of the page. Everything having to do with belt buckles comes a little further down, and the search engines will always weigh the stuff it sees first a bit more heavily. 3) Your competitor's navigation menu looks nicer than yours. Although this is an aesthetic thing, he has more textual content in the form of drop-down menus than you do. I'd suggest you overhaul it, and definitely use <div>'s instead of tables. Also make it a listmenu with <ul><li>. The search engines will assign more importance to it that way. Best of luck - I wanna see you back on top!
Our site is indin superior but competitors bought links seems to make a great difference. I will try to imlement all you wrote, especially the navigation menu and even try to redesign the site with an open design to be more user friendly.
in your link building campaign, have you been using different key words other than belt buckles? too many anchor links using the same key word can appear like spam.
