I know a lot of you guys will find this really basic, but I need advice. I subscribed to ClickBank after reading a lot of 'money making' stuff and I do think it's one of the best way to generate money online - being an affiliate for a very big network. So, I found the program I want to push, or should I say, promote : dominating cb (http://dominatingcb2.com/?hop=0) (notice it's not my aff id, haha). I bought a domain (.com). I linked it to my host. Now, I added a single code to the header page of my index.php. The reason I did this is to cloak my aff id, like I red here it's the best method (right?). This is an example, as I don't want you to know my personal details. That said, when users click my .com, they are redirected to the offer. Here's what I want to know : i) How can I make it so the address in the navigation bar of the browser stays to my domain name? Ex : they click on my .com, but are redirected to an ugly URL. I want them to have the impression they are still on MY website. ii) How can I send trafic to my website, other than by having good keywords on google search? I know it's a very big thing, but if you can help me...I red about Per-Pay-Click (but it's risky I think), Google AdWords, etc. Do they work? Thanks
a) You can do this by iframing the cb page on your index page. b) I don't recommend sending ppc traffic with all these threads the last weeks about low cb sales. Article/Bum marketing is the way to go at the moment.
Thanks for the advice, but I don't like iframes, usually don't look good and are bad for SEO. Can you explain what BUM marketing is?
well, you have no website, no landing page, you are immediately redirecting them to the product page using php...what seo you are talking about then? just stick your redirect inside a frame and off you go. bum marketing is all free marketing methods like article marketing, social bookmarking, blog posting and so on.
Quoted for truth. If I were you kudgel, I'd pick a niche that I'd already know about, if you've recovered from a problem or illness of any kind, do search for that on CB, see if they have a product on that and then you would be qualified to give recommendations, reviews and opinions of all sorts. IM is very difficult to sell unless you build a large email list and then spread it around, or through PPC or a very strenuous forum posting circuit that I really do not recommend at the moment. Problem niches are very easy for newbies to convert, since you just need to build one simple recommendation page and send visitors to it. Or screw that and sell something that converts on sight like satellite TV on PC, warcraft gold guides (these are HOT if you can sell them right) or the seduction, dating and making-up-with-ex's sites. Feel free to PM me regarding any advice you may need, I'm coaching newbie affiliates on msn and would be glad to add you too .
What you're trying to do is called Frame Redirect. To answer you question, put the following code in your index.php file: <html><head></head><frameset rows='100%, *' frameborder=no framespacing=0 border=0> <frame src="http://clickbank.net" name=mainwindow frameborder=no framespacing=0 marginheight=0 marginwidth=0> </frame></frameset> <noframes><h2>Your browser does not support frames. We recommend upgrading your browser.</h2><br><br><center>Click <a href="http://clickbank.net" >here </a> to enter the site.</center></noframes></html> Code (markup): Replace http://clickbank.net with your affiliate link
There hundreds of ways of marketing a site other than PPC. The best being SEO, as its effectively the free and more effective method of PPC. You should check out the "general marketing" section of this forum for more advice.
Unfortunately, many newbies who start by promoting IM products never make a single sale. If you're trying to sell to other IMers you'll find that they're a savvy bunch and will only buy from (a) a marketer they trust and like or (b) a marketer with a kick ass bonus.
totally agree ... i've been in IM for a couple of months now and have never brought an IM product yet ... the ones i would only ever consider are by someone who is a true guru ... let's put it this way, once you start in affiliate marketing you become very aware that you are being sold too, and question very much the claims that people make ... a n00b will struggle to convince people that they know what they're talking about
