They're based in ethopia, which is not a country known for reputable online business practices. Just that alone would make me run the other way.
I have never heard of it. I did a google and only one page the above came out. It is a subdomain of goeport.com which seemed to be more of a portal and it is hosted in Dreamhost with private registration. IMHO I won't touch it with a ten foot pole without having more information on this money especially with regards to sensitive issues such as money transfer. It pays to be careful and inquisitive.
It looks like they are trying to handle money transfers, phone cards, music, and dating. And with is probably being only 15 months old, I would have to agree with the others - stay away from them. Chances are very high that if you start to use them, you will have problems sooner or later.
well when paypal started they weren't 10 years old.....but still its not a reliable service (i mean geoport's one)
True but I rather wait for them to be 10 year old then try out an unknown at this moment of time. I will let others be the guinea pigs . It would well be another Pay Pal but I would rather wait till then to use them.
It is probably not permitted by Paypal to exchange in currency exchanges. Besides, Ethopia is a Send Only country so it cannot officially receive cash via Paypal. It just does not look anything legal there. See http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=944530
True on one side, but so false on the other side! Ofcourse the country should not be reason to discredit them, but if a country does not have any regulations whatsoever on banking procedures, how safe is your money?
In the end, we cannot dictate who can use what service. If you like and trust their service, go right ahead and use them. Caveat emptor applies here. The main issue is, does it legally have the right to engage in money exchanges in the US ? Does any of the virtual money services given them the green light and permission to engage in it. The US Address listed is the same addresss as Alice Lloyd College http://money-transfer.goeport.com/contact and http://www.stateuniversity.com/universities/KY/Alice_Lloyd_College.html
Wow, good go eddy2099! Maybe there's some college kid part-timing it on the internet there in Kentucky!
From the picture, it does looks like the building is exclusively the college since it is a big college. Besides the college own several properties in that road. Actually, it is not really a very complex business because people here do engage in currency exchanges. All you need is funds in several virtual money platform and when you receive funds in one currency, you pay out in another.
Its illegal. try google search. I saw that in search engines some persons are saying that it is scam.
Well i never used them or heard of them. But will recommend to use Western Union/Moneygram as they have thousands of outlets everywhere
