Same ip address, different server?

My host is currently hosted with a reseller who just moved to my site alledgedly to a dedicated server. However, using a website that tells you what other sites are sharing your hosting it appearerd that there were 3 or 4 other sites on the same hosting as mine.

I have confronted him about this asking why there are 3 oher sites on the same hosting as mine and he said they have the same ip address but different nameservers so aren't effecting my bandwidth or anything.

My question is, is he taking me for a ride? Are these other sites using my bandwidth or effectively slowing the server/hosting down as it is effectively shared hosting? I would assume that the same ip address meant that it was on my dedicated server (please note this is dedicated, not vps)?

    Can someone help?

    my answer is

if it's shared hosting then you can have same ip but for dedicated server you can't

each dedicated server must have unique ip address for running
if your host said like that then seem your host was lie to you :)

The website which tells you how many other sites are on your IP may be outdated. Ping/resolve each of the sites, if their IP is the same as yours, your hosting is definitely lying to you, and those sites will use your bandwidth and/or resources.
