Is this possible?

I have a website with adesense which is doing quite well (and getting better) ;)

I understand that only 3 ad banners are allowed per page, and at the moment I have some fairly lengthy pages with a column down the left that displays 3 skyscrapers.

I was wondering whether its possible and within Adsense TOC to have the adsense script move up and down the column depending on what part of the page you are on?

This would mean I would only need one skyscraper here and it would pull out better results and always be on display to potential clickers.

It is a good idea, you should just think about the JavaScript issues (if you use it), I don't know if it against AdSense TOS, go and check yourself on their support site.

You mean, you want to move your ad unit up and down, when users will scroll up and down the pages?

It's a good idea but it is NOT allowed, please check your facts before posting incorrect information. I asked the Adsense team specifically about this (showed a mock up of what it would look like) and they said it came under the heading of:

    Thanks for the help everyone.

Seems a shame but I can understand why this is so. If they let a script control Adsense units display then where would be the stopping point be.

Yeah, it would be nice but people would start coming up with some ways to make it very intrusive so they can't allow such things.

Placing Google ads in a "floating box" in which ads scroll, hover, or expand over the webpage is not allowed.

It's incredible the misinformation you can have on these boards, newbies like Viktor Drej and sHurng passing themselves as knowledgeable advisers. Be careful people.

You guys are 100% incorrect. You cannot have the google adsense moving whatsoever. It is against TOS. I've done it before, then they revised rules and specifically said not to do that.

Heh, when it lasted it sure was fun! That was over a year ago though, lol.

Yup, I had a real nice layout that I mocked up with Javascript and asked them about it, there was no alteration of the ad-code, but they said no (pointing to the part of the Policies I quoted above). This was almost 2 years ago. I was glad I had asked lol

It's not allowed since such a mechanism could manipulated to inflate clicks.
