Same as starting a site in any niche with big competitors. You spend a lot of money on getting the site perfect and even more on advertising. If you're going to persuade people to post jobs up on your site, then you have to have a simple, easy to use yet attractive website. And marketing. You're going to need a big budget. Use every method ever made to market. Now, that said, it's not impossible to be successful, but you're going to have to put a lot of effort in. What is your marketing plan?

my marketing plan is being that i graduated college a few months ago and awaiting law school next fall, i found it Extremely difficult to find employment this past summer, even at minimum wage type jobs, but anyway i still have friends and family in school in various states and I figured a good start with them delivering info by word of mouth or facebook, myspace, etc.

i have a substantial amount of capital saved just for whatever may be needed, i know this isnt an easy process or quick, but i do hope within the next 5-6 months to see some results and money in return

Don't expect it to turn out to be earned money within 1 years.
I have a site that run for 2 year + then only begin to earn money.
For this kind of site, you need to spent more money first to let your site is well know, then you can only start earn money.
You can advertise at blog related to career or buy ads at newspaper

I think go for freshers niche or part-time job niche... or even IT industry niche is good... but Freshers or part-time jobs are hot favourites...

Perhaps a job site tailored towards law students... this could do two things.

    1. Maybe your business will be successful.
    2. You'll get into contact with a lot of law firms, so when you do graduate, you'll 100% guaranteed to get a job.

    a win win...
