I am annoyed with seeing all these domains that I would really like to buy slapped with search engines, blank pages and spyware. I could really get a good site going on these domains, and it is so annoying to see them falling apart and generating revenue through search engines. I found a nice domain, and asked how much it would be to buy it, and I was quoted $13,600. I just laughed at him. It was PR1. Anyways, your thoughts on this issue?
The PR is not what matters for a domain's value. Yes it's annoying that domains are squatted, but it's reality.
I wonder if domain reselling is profitable... thinking of buying a few for yourself to resell them later.
I know what u mean - I estimate about 50% at least of premium domain names are just sitting there parked - it amazes me how much they are losing out on
domain reselling is profitable only if it is the right domain name. especially if you have those that makes agood company name.
I know that people buy domains, such as davidbeckham.com as soon as they are available and then let them go for a very high price, like they do with a lot of celebrities, but its becoming every domain which has any decebt keywords is a parked domain on some stupid search engine with that annoying blonde girl standing outside Texas University. (Im sure you know the woman I mean) Here is a picture, courtesy of my old, now parked domain: pcgrounds.com
Just keep looking for opportunities in getting a great domain for a fair price, there are thousands and thousands out there.
In my opinion domain re-selling is the new real estate and a good investment. It is a gamble but just think of buying several good domain names cheap and re-selling them later for a "reasonable price". I think for some re-sellers they attempt to sell their domain name(s) for a ridiculous price. Now in some cases they will get their asking price. Just to give you an example, the lucky dog who previously owned fund.com is 10 million dollars richer when they sold the domain back in April. Its pretty much like lottery but I think the odds are much better. It seems to amaze me when I see big payouts on recent domain sales that are mis-spelled, etc.
Do that. That's better than feeling frustrated over something one has no full control over. And what you asked has been debated a gazillion times. It's always created a lot of ill will.
Yeh I suppose it has been debated for a long time. Just wish something would be done about it. Its GoDaddy's fault making it worse too.
