I am surprised no one said George W. Bush. He is the most powerful leader in the World.

 

he asked for the best and not ruthless.. lol.. For me, Clinton tenure was very much peaceful and prosperous for the whole world as compared to Bush..

Best and or Powerful is Bush. After Bush leaves office the next most powerful or best leader of the World will be McCain or Obama. If McCain is elected you can use the adjective honest.

First election he even lost the popular vote..

Many who voted for him voted for him for the 'lesser' of 2 evils approach, not that they truly supported him, fear also had much to do with it.

Polls show him not to be anywhere near 'popular' last I checked polls is where you determine if an elected official is liked or not. Usually that would be considered 'popularity'

Well, I think the question needs to be defined a little. If the question is 'who is the best politician', then it doesn't mean that I have to like him/her to say that they are the best.

Wikipedia says :

So, by that definition, I would have to say Bush also.

In my opinion, he is absolutely the most abysmal US president ever, BUT, he has managed to 'influence the way a society is governed through an understanding of political power and group dynamics'.

Think about it; he has changed the US from 'the land of the free, home of the brave' into a police state, wrecked the economy and is actually trying to fix it with this crazy corporate bailout. AND THE AMERICAN PEOPLE ARE STILL ALLOWING HIM TO STAY IN OFFICE.

That, in my opinion is the definition of 'a good politician'.
