Google search engine for mobile websites

    I heard there is a new google search engine for mobile websites.
    Anyone knows anything about this?
    How does google detect if the website is designed for mobiles?
    Is it not considered duplicate content if one has a separate mobile version of his website?

    generally speaking is a site is XHTML strict compatible it works with mobile as well.

    Today in Hindustan times i saw Google mobile gadget in which we can use net and Google search engine too . May be now Google will acquire mobile users also .

    Yes I know. That's why I asked how google detects if a site is for mobile...
    Does it look in the header?
    Does google have a separate bot for browsing mobile websites?
