Uh...missed my sarcastic point entirely. No, I'm not saying they should be spending their money on the "economy"....duh....

And I personally think it's a good move. All of America is whining how nobody in D.C. gives a damn about the "common person". Well, he's trying to prove that he will....whether he will or not is yet to be seen. I, for one, would like to see what he plans to do to help the economy instead of mudslinging for the next month or so......

This is a ridiculous political ploy just like it was a political ploy when he elected a woman to get Hillary voters when he had people like Mitt Romney, Rhudy Guliani, and a few others I was worried he would have chosen, to choose from. He had a serious list of candidates that would have been a GREAT asset to his candidacy and yet he chose one with other assets.

He threw a hail Mary and since Barack didn't take the bait, no one was there to catch it.

I mean get real. He knows damn well they don't need him. What the hell is he going back to "work on"? They don't even want him there.

Here's what's going to happen..... by tomorrow or early Friday it's going to be obvious the bill is going to pass and he isn't needed. Then he's going to have to come crawling back and say he'll do the debates.

And wait, haven't we seen McCain do the the fake campaign suspension to "put aside politics" thing before? Hurricane Gustav anyone?

    New playbook plz. Thanks.

childish and flimsy was exactly what i was going for.
He is dangerous. He is weak. Just look at the body language with his wife. She is the boss. Same thing with palin. he begs for a hug at the end. Whenever he say something smart he looks at his handlers and get that stupid grin and head shaking that say" i was good wasn't i?wasn't i". He has morons running his campaign and control him. He seems panicked and he is lying stupidly. He picked palin based on politics only and put the country in danger. Bad political move if you really look at. I can go on and on and on.

I find it sadly comical, that Obama has borne the rap of dodging McCain's so-called "town hall meetings," and the first bona fide opportunity to meet in debate, McCain is heading out of Dodge. From a poll on MSNBC, out of 76,000+ respondents, 74% want the debate to continue, 34% do not. SurveyUSA has it with a majority wanting the debate to go on as scheduled, with only 10% wanting it postponed.

    These are scary times...very scary.

I think we should just put everything on hold and let Bush run things for a few more years. At least until he can get things turned around for us.

McCain and Obama aren't going to do anything to solve this anyway. There are people in the congress with waaaaaay more understanding of this stuff than those two. I think the joint statement that Obama proposed would have been fine to show that the Presidential candidates want a non-partisan solution.

I like the little dig that Obama gave McCain over this: "It is going to be part of the president's job to deal with more than one thing at once."

It shows how useless they both are to me. How economically inept they both seem when they pretend the economic crisis is just now popping up and somehow the two of them are going to solve it over the weekend with Bush who has probably never had the burden of balancing his personal checkbook.

It's comical to say the least that those two are out campaigning when there is an economic relief bill in Washington that is being pushed through that will equal 700 billion to over a trillion dollars of money we do not have. Yes Obama does not want "town hall meetings," He does not give answers, just long incoherent catch phrases but the sheep do not care what response he gives.

"They" aren't saying they will. "They" didn't even say what you just said in their joint statement.

I'm glad this happened. Half the American people were prepared to vote for a sporadic crazy man and put him in the WhiteHouse. I mean just look at both the candidates during this campaign. John McCain taking crazy risks and throwing wild hail mary's all through the campaign when it looks like he might lose. Is that the kind of person you want in charge of the military? With access to nuclear launch codes?

They throw around the word maverick like it's a good thing.... Fact is we don't need a scatter brain in the white house who looks like he's ready to try all kindsa crazy shit (gambling with our lives and well being) rather than sitting down and thinking things through. Coming up with rational, and carefully thought out answers. Like someone else we know running for president. Hmmm.....

Yes because John McCain, the guy who has all kinds of clout in the house and senate </sarcasm> is going to go back and influence votes. Short term memory sucks but let's not forget that John McCain had VERY few friends in the Senate and zero in the house when he began running for president. And trailing in the polls with 40 days left doesn't exactly put him a powerful position of influence.

Like anyone is going to believe anything either one of them puts into the argument is anything but political.

As for Obama not wanting to give answers..... Looks like he gave a firm answer yesterday that left McCain and this whole stunt looking pretty silly didn't he ;).
