Ok So A lot of people suggest that I transfer my current domains to Go daddy
I use NameCheap They are really good!

Godaddy, charges money to push domains to users!
(AKA GIVE DOMAINS TO OTHER PEOPLE!)

Anyone got another suggestion for a good domain registrar Similar To NameCheap!?

GoDaddy doesn't charge if you transfer to another person's GoDaddy account.

I'm using Namecheap and I'm very happy with them.
They have the best support. They have 24/7 live support team.

Don't switch to Godaddy just because people tell you to.

Ask yourself, Are you happy with Namecheap, they overall service, support and prices. If yes, then stick with them, if not, switch to Goddady

GoDaddy is terrible, it takes approximately 30 minutes to just renew a single domain. This process involves clicking through about 5 pages of promotions and then configuring some wacky system which entitles godaddy to take money automatically out of your PayPal account. Oh yeah, and don't even get me started about their support system -YUCK!

    Namecheap > GoDaddy

GoDaddy < something that falls out of my backside.

namecheap is fine, but any future url's you buy you might want to just purchase them at godaddy

both namecheap and godaddy are fine

I used to be with godaddy but I do not like their policy. If you are legit autoresponder user and somebody will complain about spam (even if it was a legit follow up message) she/he got from you godaddy will take your domain a hostage without any notes and will demand a few $100s ransom to release it. I've read this from over years and I left them for good. Just FYI

GoDaddy arwe crooks in my opinion...

I noticed while checkings ome of my domains last week that a load were pointing to GoDaddy's parking page for which they obviously make a heap from PPC. I checked frantically to see if I had mistakenly let the domains in question expire, but they had not, they had 4 weeks left before renewal yet GoDaddy had changed the dns on all of them to point to their pages.

I called GoDaddy who rudely told me that it was GoDaddys policy and automated system to point domains to godaddys pages when they reach the last month of registration. This to me smacks of domain hijacking and traffic theft. Godaddy say no.

How can they just change the dns to point to their parking pages without your consent, without paying you anything and when the domain has not expired?

GoDaddy support rep just told me to complain to ICANN if I didnt like it (so I have) and to move my domains away from them

What worries me know is that I have read so much nasty stuff about GoDaddy such as if you complain they just lock you out of your domains and basically steal them with trumped up excuses.

My advice go with a decent registrar you can trust.

    I don't like GoDaddy's interface. I don't like GoDaddy's emails. I don't like GoDaddy's ads.

I really don't know why are they so popular.

godaddy has too many promotion ads, even when ur buying a domain, it asks if u want to buy extra this and that and blah blah blah...And their control panel is kinda confusing, like for child nameservers, they call Host summary

once upon a time godaddy was one of the cheapest registrars and that is when they got very popular. And as you may probably notice once the name became a "brand" the rest does not matter. People will buy on the name in many cases the product is not that great.

Interesting reading this thread. I've been using both GoDaddy and Namecheap for a few years and I like them both. I've got almost 30 domains registered at each. The one thing I prefer namecheap for is that they are simpler and more straightforward to use and their interface is cleaner. GoDaddy domain privacy is more expensive but I don't use this feature much anyway.

    I like both equally.

Strange how you didn't mention anything positive about GoDaddy yet you like them both equally :p.

That's true. I guess the main thing is there's really nothing major I dislike about GoDaddy. I never have trouble transferring or renewing domains. I get good support for any issues I have with renewing and buying domains, and with cancelling or adding services. Every once in a while I get a phone call from one of their reps asking about if I have any issues or need any help, and I find them courteous.

I really haven't had any trouble with them. Like any other company they have their issues but none have affected me directly in a way that wasn't easily resolved.

    I use both.

I guess the only reason I started using Godaddy was it makes sales of domain names easier - particularly if you're selling domain names under $100. More people have an account there.

But never had a problem with them. Namecheap either and I've just about an equal amount with both companies.

NameCheap is the better of the two. However it doesn't provide all the extras Godaddy does. But Godaddys extras aren't that great and some is filled with massive ads.

Also Godaddy seems to be raising rates on all it's products on a regular bases. I assume to pay for there soo called "Female Models" They are all show and nothing else.
