    Blackhat is a subjective term nowadays. There are plenty of techniques that many would consider blackhat that are certainly not "illegal" as many people on this forum seem to think. Blackhat usually just means you're going against a particular sites terms of service in a sneaky fashion. Cloaking is one big example.
