I myself, would charge $2.50 per article, 1 cent per word, but depending on the quality of the original works, and the extent to which you want them changed, would negotiate a bit more, or a bit less accordingly.
...then I must be an exception to the 'usually' rule 'cos I've charged more than $0.005/word in the past. I've been paid anywhere b/w $0.01 and $0.025 per word. Hope the different responses help you decide on a figure, Grant Draper. take care...
Yeh it will give me an average, i'll proof read and edit before sumbitting it to my sites, so before people go on about quality, it's more quantity in this case to save time
If I were to take on a project / client like this, it would be a custom quote for each individual situation. If the work was simple easy going rewrite then it would be cheaper, as I mentioned in the first post, I just didn't mention any numbers, but $1 - $1.50 per article would be the low end quote if there was continued work or a bulk order, and or if the content was very simple to rewrite. If the works are more complicated, or written in very poor English, then it would require a bit more time and thought, therefore would be on the higher end of the pay scale. Hope that helps. Cheers.
Rewriting work rate is $1.5 for 500 words. I did few of these jobs through rebntacoder for the job. Now I don't to waste at least one hour for $1.5
No problem, glad to assist in the matter. I agree with your conclusion, it's more likely to be more effective and problem free, however sometimes it can be economical to enlist the services of the outsourcing firms or freelancers from abroad for fast (but not necessarily quality) work, and then run it by a proof reader or editor, if the editor is good at what they do, it is likely to end up with about the same price, but better quality work with the ability to stay completely hands off. Cheers.
It depends entirely on what you really want done with the article. Do you want the words shifted or spun? Then it's about .5 cents a word. If you want someone to read through the article and write a new one based on the old one, I'd charge .7 cents a word.
For someone living in America trying to make a living, $1.50 per 250 words is hardly worth the effort at all, what's that going to buy a candy bar? Not to mention, you are going to get the best quality of work when you are willing to pay the price. I would probably charge 2.50-3.00 at least.
