i have a bunch of Xmas related sites and in the past few days started to see traffic spiking and sales coming through from partnerships i have... this is earlier than last year then Xmas traffic kicked in early October surely customers cannot be hunting for bargains already! bring it on anyone else seeing their xmas traffic kicking in?
This is bit too early !! maybe its the website owners looking to stuff up their sites and shop for the expected revenue in Nov!
Smart idea. I will probably be establishing a christmas related site towards the end of this month and get in a bit of seo before christmas and then just use PPC ads to get it out.
I've been surprised at how early it is this year as well, usually october time, especially with the state of things financially. Perhaps people think they can save some money by buying a bit early this year though!
wow, pretty early but i guess since the retail stores all start pushing early, it gets in buyers minds and kicks off the season
i realized that some of the merchants I am doing well with are those that also have winter based catalogues and the spike ties in nicely with the drop of that catalogue. so perhaps the conversions are still general items and not actual christmas items shame us marketeers can't see whats actually selling as it would answer so many questions and REALLY help refine programs. i had the heads up from an affiliate manager today that some of their xmas items are starting to feature in sunday supplements so it seems retailers are pushing harder - perhaps before the economic climate gets worse?
The spike in traffic is too early but it is good from the webmaster's point of view and hope you can make good sales and let the business go up steadily till the D-day; Happy advance greetings for the Christmas
Yep I know many affiliate companies are putting up there christmas offers now so they must be seeing some jump in searches for christmas related items
anyone have any thoughts on what trading will be like this Xmas? personally i've focussed on lower priced items compared to last year.
with economic times hard in the united states right now i dont think this christmas will be as big in spending as many before. One bad thing for us affiliate marketers is all the keywords seem to jump up in pricing from about late oct till jan but i guess if you own website with adsense you can offset that hopefully.
My prediction is that it won't be possible to achieve the same sales volume as in 2007. That's why I am concentrating on customers that don't give a fig to credit crunch. I am adding more expensive products to my clients' shops.
My holiday related revenue has gone down each year for the last 3. I typically use search marketing campaigns. Not sure if it is due to ad-blindness, or nervous consumers. I have received Christmas catalogues already....
