I recently redesigned my website, and I have gotten a few responses concerning not good placement of adsense ads. My question is, can someone browse through the home page and maybe a few article pages and make suggestions/comments. Thanks, and rep could be added.
The design is a tad newbie, but on the ads. The 468 x 15 in the header is good, but I have never been in favour of ads between posts. I'd say put a 336x 280 directly above the title of the first article and see how it goes.
Assuming it's the military ones, here are my thoughts: The design doesn't look very pro to me. it looks like a standard blogspot template that has a few tweaks. You're on a private domain now, get something good. Definitely get rid of the blogger icons. I don't know what it is, but most of the blogspot templates I see just look childish to me... Have you looked at wordpress? I find that their templates usually look much more professional and you can find tons that are already optimized. Dosh Dosh has a list of several he recommends on his site. Your middle bars with the saved and the link ads are not aligned and not in similar fonts/colors. Try to blend them better. Widen the text area so you can get an adunit on there that is double wide. You may also do better with a 160x600 on the side. Honestly, I think you need a whole new template...sorry.
It's a 728 x 15 in the header, but I agree it is good. My eye went to the same spot. The section titled 'New articles at ohmcheck'. I think you'd get clicks on a large rectangle there, but you would have to remove the phrase 'New articles at ohmcheck'. It would be misleading. Perhaps you can move the article links to above the 120x600 on the right and leave a little space or put a divider to help seperate your links from your ads. Good luck to you. Maybe this change will 'lower the resistence' of your adsense units.
This is why when you have multiple websites in your handle you need to specify which one you want feedback on. You're getting feedback on both because you didn't tell us which one you were talking about...
Could be, but his RSS feed is to the military one... So there's no way to know for sure since he didn't specify.
Sorry everyone, the site is the www.ohmcheck.com that I wanted suggestions on. Sorry for the confusion, was a bit tired.
My preference is i do not like the ads below the header, but the site is awesome ^^ I especially love the resistor colour chart that drops down
Thanks, yeah I have been thinking about dropping the link ads down just below the rotating pictures/welcome paragraph. UPDATE: I moved the links to the upper right on the homepage, what do you think?
Sweet site. Hope there will be more of those drop downs. Your trouble seems to be with the google ads. But the part where you have a google search right under the ads looks a bit much. Nice job on the site, though.
