Heres my situation, I am good with making graphics from the program Photoshop and am new to the webmaster business but the webmaster business is looking interesting.I plan to make a few bucks from my Photoshop designing and want to invest it into something thats willing to help me now and in a few years (tech jump). I see alot of you own your own websites and i believe sell pre mades right (Digital Point Forums > Business > Buy, Sell or Trade > Sites) . Basically, i have a few questions like

#1. Lets say i buy one of the sites,(most likely forums to start out, not sure) And when i buy it, what happends besides owning it, like where would i start?
#2. What does "free web hosting for 1 year " mean?
#3. Do you have monthly bills to pay for the website?
#4. Is knowing code language a must and would i have to go to collage to learn it?

These are the questions i have for now and if i think of anything else, will post.

    Thx for reading, Greets, Baker

If you have enough funds now, I suggest you start off to get a paid hosting instead of free hosting, also create a page to showcase your works will jump start your designing career on the Net, wish you all the best :)

Usually if I buy a website the first thing i'd do is start basic on site seo on it, then build some backlinks to it by linking with other websites. Also if any changes were needed, ie new header, new color scheme etc then i'd do that too.

#2. What does "free web hosting for 1 year " mean?

It usually means that web hosting companies will give you 1 years free hosting, then you have to pay thereafter.

#3. Do you have monthly bills to pay for the website?

You would have to pay for hosting per month, unless of course you got 1 years free hosting then there wouldn't be hosting bills until after the first year. There could be other bills, like if you wanted to buy paid posters for your forum, but for me I only pay for hosting each month.

#4. Is knowing code language a must and would i have to go to collage to learn it?

No, you can hire people, and if you buy a pre made site then it shouldn't need any major changes so won't cost you much if you were to hire someone to do some coding. If you wanted to learn coding yourself then you could go to college though.

    Learn before you dive in?

It means the seller provides 1 year hosting for you.

Some people prefer to pay them once a year. Or you can pay hosting monthly, but i wouldn't advice that.

Html + CSS. And that's it for a start. Ah You can add some Wordpress... and no, no need to be a rocket scientist...

MyWealthPackage - For now, i use my Photobucket but i will work on that :)

:D, thx for this quick reply, i have 1 more question to add on it .
So lets say i just buy one of these cheap websites to experiment and the hosting expired in lets say a month , but i have a friend who runs a good hosting company and offers me free hosting, i could switch the hosting company right?
Also, I live in US, will any money being made be effected by taxes(real ones, not paypals :) ) or Social Security?

Thx for reading and helping, Greatly appreciated :D

Yes you can switch hosting companies whenever you like.

I'm not sure about the taxes in the US, maybe someone from the US can help you out on that one
