I don't exactly what the situation is called, I call it "Google Dancing". Recently, I have often had habit of search some target keywords on Google and I have found that the position of the keywords changed so rapidly in only one day. For instance, this morning I searched keyword "free fta satellite keys", my site was listed on the fourth position. And now, it ranks on the eleventh (second page) only. Sometimes, I don't see it anymore although I come to the tenth page of SEFR. I don't know why. This makes me less believe in Google! Can anyone explain the problem? Thank you very much!
Don't worry about this - I get it all the time. Most sites will bounce around between a range of 10 slots. Google does this to compare relative CTR for each position. In your case a movement down from 4th to 11th is really no big problem, you have not been penalised in any way IMO. Only when you move down by 10 or more should you be a little worried.
This usually happens when google is updating their data centers, give it a couple of days and it will go back to its right spot
Last week my site was in the first page for organic search...this week I'm way down. I have done nothing wrong. What gives with Google?
if anyone knows how to dance, thats google! btw, google is updating their datacenters for which this flactuation is. should sattle down a bit once the update is done. we should expect a PR change in a day or two
This stability problems happens only for new or poor sites. But old and high traffic sites never face the problems. Sometimes if the keyword is high competitive there is a chance of little variation . but no chance of invisible
Also keep in mind, every day there is potentially somebody else working on their site with the same niche and keyword targeting you are using. If they put more effort into their SEM campaign, it is entirely possible they will move ahead of you, in an active niche area where many new sites are emerging, this could also cause a 'google dance'.
This is quite normal for new sites or when the number of inbound links suddenly increase. Just an advice: do not reveal your keywords unless you want more competition
Thanks for your answer! I think so! The site has 1 month old and I have built more than 1000 backlinks for it. Hope that the competitor is not you!
