I run a medical retail e-commerce website, which is about 3 years old. 2008 Revenue will reach $400k+ this year. Profit ranges from 15-20% per item sold. All my sales are primarily web based -- via search engines. Site ranks 1st page for MANY highly searched keywords in my industry. No inventory is stored -- products are primarily drop shipped. Have molded a close relationship w/ a few medical distributors and manufacturers. Flawless shipping. Can someone provide some guidance on how much you think I can sell the site for? I get any where from 15-30k uniques per month. Highlights: 24/7 call center, live chat, one-page checkout, fully SEO optimized, professionally designed -- best in my niche market, osCommerce (heavily modified).
The price is depend on many factor such as PR/backlink/link popularity/etc You can alway check your site value at www.sitevaluecalculator.com
no.. actually you're completely wrong... if i have a site that is pr5 and has 4972359279572357927357 backlinks, it doesn't mean shit if it isn't generating money i would take a pr0 with 0 backlinks that generates money any day over a pr7 with a shitload of backlinks.. depending on how much you have your niche cornered, i think it could easily fetch 2-3 years income... most sites get between 10months-1.5 years income... but your site seems to be more of an authoritive site then a typical proxy site or something stupid like that
The website is w-w-w.m-y-s-t-e-t-h-o-s-c-o-p-e.c-o-m. I was reading you can get anywhere from 2-10 times your yearly profit if you sell a site -- is that realistic?
You can easily sell it for 12x times your monthly profits at any point of time. Depending on your knack for selling things, you can even manage to get upto 20x times the monthly profits. If you want any help in selling your website for an excellent price, do send me a PM.

Is this a joke? That might work for a web directory or something -- NOT an e-commerce website. How would it know how much revenue I produce. LOL
The problem with asking in the forum is that you'll get answers from people who've not turned over $400K in their lives! But they would feel fully qualified to give you advice on what "multiple" your site could sell for. The single most comprehensive and accurate article about site valuations is here. If yours isn't one of the usual rubbish sites that get sold on DP for $50 then you owe it to yourself to learn how the serious buyers actually value sites and how you can make sure you get the maximum price for yours.
I agree with Merkersarl, there are people on this forum that make good money online but your story is a whole different one. You have a serious business that I believe not a lot of people here are familiar with. I could suggest 5-10 times the monthly profit but being realistic I don't know where or how you can sell a site that big.
Bbot You are not selling just a website here. You are selling a established business. Your contacts and price negotiations with the manufacturers and the system which you have already established and tested to be profitable are much more important than the website here. Anybody can rank for some keywords but building a business takes more than that and you have done that. If I was you I would either, explore if I can take the business to the next level, or get atleast 36 months of your business's profit if I have to sell it.
Actually, you're wrong. Those relationships, the "essential assets", add $0 to the value of the business. Have a look at this.
