How to get traffic?

How do people get so much traffic to their sites, the only ways I know of is Google indexing, social networking and spamming your site.

I don't mean like 100 impressions in a week, I mean about 8000+ impressions. That blows my mind away

 

Good SEO gets me low xx,xxx uniques per day.

 

Good SEO unless you're willing to pay for the traffic.

Uhhhh, it's advertising and word of mouth.

That's it.

And, no, it is not through SEO and or backlinks. Only clueless noobs with slow to dead sites stubbornly and foolishly hold on to that belief.

Only advertising and word of mouth can consistently do this kind of traffic.

Now if you would have said 800 instead of 8,000 a week....

But even then, with that many it takes quite a bit of work.

Word of mouth indeed. I'm offering my marketing services for free. My service, The Marketingers Project, is going to launch tomorrow (Monday) and give numerous people free marketing! ...I would love to help you out as well.

What I will do is use several methods of blog posts on marketingers.wordpress.com
Some examples include: reviews of your site/business/product, basic blog posts of your link and whatever promotional materials you may have, as well as polls/contests.

Concentrate on creating good content for your site and it will naturally draw more visitors by getting linked to from other sites that already have traffic. Other than that i would suggest making sure your site is SEO friendly and concentrate of the less compeititive long tail keywords. Ranking for hundreds of longtail keywords can bring as much traffic as getting ranked for one competitive keyword with less effort.

 

YouTube gets me 90% of my traffic.

You just have to think outside the box sometimes.

 

I think to get a large amount of traffic it is a combination of branding your website, SEO, social traffic, and more. Whoever said the myth about SEO doesn't get you traffic doesn't know anything. I have had a website rank for a medium traffic keyword plus a lot of other keywords and the income from that would be enough for someone to live on.

 

What's your url that gives you this "income from that would be enough for someone to live on," and what keywords are you under?

And how much are your bills? ... $100 a month?

 

Maybe he means a more significant figure, like $3k per month.

 

social bookmarking, social networking, article writing, link development, link baiting, lots of methods will work just use your head.

 

There's a lot of ways you forgot to mention and the best if forum postings... Optimized site can have around 1k a day..

1. Make a website and sell advertising spaces
2. Offer services like programming, webdesign, writing, etc...

Now to have any idea how to do the above ways you need to read the forum..

 

Forums, CraigsList, Myspace, FaceBook, Squidoo, Digg, Blogger, Torrents, etc....Just a bunch of free services that with a little brain work you can turn into a awsome traffic flow

 

also, link exchanges and submitting your website to search engines...And if your willing to pay a little money...Adwords...but not really helpful unless u use the right keywords
