Using anchor text to link from some pages of a site to other pages of the same site help with the optimization and serps? If, for example, you have 10 keyword-rich pages targeting specific keywords related to products you sell on your site, and then from each of your 10 keyword-rich pages you place anchor text links to the product pages (all in the same site), will this have any impact in the optimization and the search result positions? Does anybody have experience with this? Thanks
Yes, it will make a lot of difference because basically what you are doing is improving the site internal link structure and therefore provide more inter-related keywords to enrich the content.
It will help - if you look in webmaster tools, you will find those anchor texts will appear as what google understands your site to be about. Also - this is how wikipedia dominates serps - though obviously not everything that such a huge and linked-to site does can be replicated on a small site.
Yes this will help you very much. If the link's anchor text matches the <title> of the going to page, this will be even better.
Definitely anchor text will help you with optimization and serps. Another option to consider that works really well is on the individual product pages, not to blindly link to all products. Or at least if you are linking to all of them use a nofollow for some, and target the pages you want to give link juice to. You may want to give 3 of the 10 products more link juice because they are more profitable to you, and then on that page you can give link juice somewhere else. It all depends on where you are wanting the visitors to go. Be sure that you are doing nofollow's for those pages you do not want link juice to flow to e.g. terms and conditions, privacy policies, etc. You should maximize the link juice you have. Using nofollow's is a smart way to achieve this. Cheers
Heavy interlinkind is fine but don't over do it. I have never too much results with heavy interlinking with anchors as keywords
I have seen you in many threads and you are posting same thing again and again. I just want to know what's ur target.................. If you are such fresher then read first and post here..................
Thank you all for your answers! I agree about anchor text being basic and fundamental, I have been using it for inbound links and some site-wide links for years with good results, but my worry is that maybe it could be a bit too much also adding them in keywords in text? Or you have experience in that and has worked well for you? My fear refers a bit to what poseidon said: "Heavy interlinkind is fine but don't over do it. I have never too much results with heavy interlinking with anchors as keywords" Has any of you used anchor text links so much within the site that it has given negative results?
