I am for real. I don't understand how buying 2 PR7 links would boost my organic ranking on Google? I have tones of PR5 and 6 on my resource page already.

Wouldn't the SEO guys (www.treehouse.com) that I hired for the past year know this?

This question is posted in absolute seriousness.

It's not what links you put on your resource pages; it's how many pr5+ links you have on other websites pointing to yours.

If you are serious I feel bad; any SEOs you hired for $50k that could only get you to rank #6 with a PR of 3 in a local market with a search competition volume of about half a million probably stole your money. You've only got a couple hundred incoming links and they're not that strong: http://www.linkdiagnosis.com/?q=http://www.somagenesis.com

Their website shows that they do everything BUT SEO. Their own website is not SEOed either.

SEO only works if you do it well. If 2 years of SEO doesn't get you to rank 1 (for those keywords) and more than 50 uniques per day, you have not done it well.

Your on page optimization sucks as well as content distribution. I think you spent your money on link building and not on proper SEO. What are your keywords ? If you are serious than PM me and I will be more than happy to help you for free.

I don't have any url's that I can show you not ranking using this tactic lol, as I don't use it. 10+ people a day are recommending this garbage as an seo method, so surely one of them can provide proof of ranking? Every single time I call people out on it they just dissapear and don't reply to the thread again.

    Agree!
Although Article submission alone would not be the #1 technique it has some nice synergies attached to it.
Branding and reputation management is one of the good ones! ;)

It also gives you some extra chances to get some nice links (Linkbaiting) if the "news are good enough"! :)

Be it article submission, directory submission or forum posting, back links will get might get you noticed quickly, but when people land on your webpages only to find they are irrelevant, they just disappear faster than you imagine.

Jenny the problem with the poll is you put a bunch of methods that are not SEO effective. If you had added "link buying" it would have wiped the floor with them all.

I've found this thread very interesting because I am trying hard to understand SEO. I must admit, I am still confused because I have read so many conflicting views over the last year. First, I read that exchanging links with suitable sites was the best way forward - then, it seems that is not in fashion anymore, so I decided to submit to a few directories - only to read somewhere, that Google discounts or down-grades any link if its from a site that contains the word "directory". The general view seems favourable as regards submitting to article directories but I'm still unsure just how much weight a link from an article would carry. Also, I was very surprised to find that one of the top article directories was using "no follow" in its page source. I guess, I'll just have to continue trying a bit of everything and hope something produces resuts.

Well guys looks like Poseidon knows hits SEO... www.somagenesis.com now dominates the San Diego Personal training market out of 631,000

My main keyword phrases that attract business are:
    1. San Diego Personal Trainer
    2. San Diego Personal Trainers
    3. Carlsbad Personal trainer
    4. Carlsbad Personal Trainers

With good SEO, linking, optimization and article syndication he has moved me from 7th position on organic ranking to 1st and 2nd! within a 3 week time table.
I will soon dominate page 1 on Google in a very heated, competitive market.

    Thanks Pushkar (aka Poseidon)
