Hey guys.... I notice Anchor Text is HUGE for SEO Has anyone ever ranked for a keyword in their anchor text, however the word isnt even mentioned on their site? Run a test.... Make an anchor text to your site.... where the keywords arent on the page...... and see if you rank I tested it in mine and Im waiting.... I made a link to my site that says "Dino Cagney"... so Im waiting!
Yes, that is true. You can rank good in search results for a keyword which even is not mentioned in your site. I have some backlinks with the anchor text "angilina", and I ranked good for that keyword, although, I did not had that word in my whole site. However, I have now added a page with that word in it
Yes, to prove it just type "click here" into Google, you will go to Adobe where they are ranking high because of the Adobe Reader download where people link to it with 'Click Here'. The anchor term is not on the Adobe page or it wasn't last time I looked. It's also a small page with very little content J
I have tried the anchot text strategy. But it's not at all working. May be I am trying for high competition anchor text.
Anchor text is probably the single most important SEO tool. I think its even more to it than the obvious keyword stuffing, but haven't figured all out. Once I know more, I reckon Google will change everything, so all research will be vain. Usually go down that road...
it's about effectively overlapping your anchor text, and of course about passing as much pagerank through it as you can.
it also works for nofollow links. i think dofollow is mainly for PR. while nofollow gives no PR juice, it still gives you keyword benefits.
That is a VERY good test to see if NO-FOLLOW helps with anchor text Has anyone tried this? This will settle all rumors and speculations about "No Follow"
I don't think this is true.. 'no follow' means the google bot doesn't follow the link to your site, therefore you cannot get credit for the keyword. PR and anchor text are interlinked based on the bot being able to follow the link to your page. J
I agree with mintoj. Anchor is very powerfull, you can check the Google bomb effect, under a history. There are some interesting things
