Weekend Spikes ?

I am only just really starting to monitor my traffic and well my site that i am monitoring has only been up for 20 days, so probably not really long enough to make judgment yet, But im am noticing spikes over the weekend i have 3 large increases and after looking at the dates they all occur over weekends.. Does anyone else see this ?

My site is doing about 600-700 hundred uniques a day but the weekends really seem to spike. Is this happening because of more numbers using the internet on weekends ?

Just like to be able to explain the real reason to potential advertisers when that time comes and they ask, because it is making the stats look a little sus going from 700+ to 1500+ for 2-3 days and then droping back down.

Thanks if anyone can clear this up

Depends what your niche is - 'business' type sites tend to be busier during the week, 'entertainment' sites tend to be busier at weekends, to put it in very broad strokes.
I don't think anybody would find a difference in business at the weekends as opposed to weekdays suspicious, it happens in 'real-life' businesses too.

Hmmm...not really. I have one site which is about online banking and the traffic actually decrease especially during Friday and Saturday night and the traffic only pick up on Sunday. I can't explain, it's just the trend that I see.

what? 600-700 UV on a 20 day old site, i don't think so.

unless your running adwords campaigns, or are paying for traffic..are you?

how much of it is organic?

For all my sites, I have 40% less traffic on the weekends and I have seen many people who get less traffic on the weekends. I guess you may have the increase because of your site's Niche.

Probably because they wake up Sunday afternoon in a haze and then begin panicking about all the money they spent over the weekend.

Most people I know seem to have lower traffic on the weeekends, and its the same for me.

Good work on the traffic since its only 20 days old.

Thanks all for your replies. ive never really monitored my traffic so closely if at all in the past so was just a little worried.

Yes also traffic is legit with 68% search engine traffic and a lot of bookmarkers it would seem. I dont have many links out for this site, its incredible to watch the traffic grow and knowing its legit traffic. and site is only 20 days old.

"what? 600-700 UV on a 20 day old site, i don't think so." No really it is..

thats the spike im talking about Wednesday was average Thursday was low and you can see in the pic the spike.. todays traffic is at 1190 with a few hours to go. but this spike has happened over all 3 weekends.

Anyway this wasn't about my traffic im not trying to show off, just dont like being called a lair, i was genuinely asking if anyone else saw the same type of spikes.

50% increase on the weekends.. nice!

One of my newer sites usually gets a boost on the weekends, but not as much of a percentage boost as yours. I maybe get around 20-25% increase.
Although when the site was around 3 or 4 weeks old, it did seem like I was getting a higher percentage increase on the weekends, but I think that was more a combination of the extra weekend visits and gains in the SERPs.

But yeah, certain types of sites will get more weekend traffic than others..

    Cheers

    I was about to say...

I get like 40 hits organically from Google and that impresses me because as my site is so new...

I would be stoked if I got 600-700 in only 20 days, you must have SEO juice pouring out of you dude...
