Of course, you would come back with that. So everyone gets to be patriotic except who?

I honestly don't see it. He wants to create some programs and more than likely axe some.

Both sides continue the 'tax and spend' you honestly are only seeing one side and trying to narrow in on one side being bad when both are.

'Wanting' is lip service, doing it after claiming otherwise is even worse.

No of 'course' it's simple logic, does logic scare you?

I am not for bigger taxes, that doesn't change the fact of what you stated, would result in more home owners losing their houses, more home owners losing their houses = us being worse off not better.

You have to be a fool not to see that increasing taxes will increase the size of the government. Tax and spend, tax and spend.

But when the cloud of rhetoric has passed we are screwed. You'd have to be an absolute idiot to think that the answer is to make government bigger by increasing taxes. Are you kidding me? obama must think Americans are as crazy as a hat maker or haberdasher lacing their goods with mercury or lead.

“This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting, and never use the word “victory” except when he’s talking about his own campaign,” the Palin said.

“But when the cloud of rhetoric has passed, when the roar of the crowd fades away, when the stadium lights go out and those Styrofoam Greek columns are hauled back to some studio lot - what exactly is our opponent’s plan? What does he actually seek to accomplish, after he’s done turning back the waters and healing the planet?

“The answer is to make government bigger, take more of your money, give you more orders from Washington and to reduce the strength of America in a dangerous world. America needs more energy, our opponent is against producing it. Victory in Iraq is finally in sight, he wants to forfeit.”:eek:

Homebiz you are just as guilty of 'rhetoric' when he in fact wants to cut taxes under $250,000 and increase on over. Try giving the entire story, it's not all tax increases.

    http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/09/19/campaign.wrap/index.html
Appears McCain believes the answer is 'bigger government' as well.

Are you prepared to finally wake up that McCain is not the answer you all claim him to be?'

    http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/there_he_goes_again.html
For McCains latest 'fib' on Obama's tax policy that many of you appear to be eating up, hook, line and sinker.

    http://www.suntimes.com/news/politics/obama/1031268,CST-NWS-tax30.article

I don't like either of them, my love for this country however wants the deficit taken care of before it kills our country! My question is do you love this country, or do you care more about greed?

You know, a couple of days ago you made out like you were in your death bed and that I was somehow picking on you because you were "wasting away". I've tried very hard to be nice. I've tried to cut you some slack. The least you could do is to try to get along.

Yes, statistically, out of the 300 million people in America there would be some that could not pay. You decide to be the advocate for that slim portion of the population just to be able to argue.

I better stop picking on you.

I did not state you were picking on me, quite the contrary.

    I stated
This is not 'picking on me' if anything I find it humerus that even in my current condition you can not debate the facts of what McCain has done, and instead were trying to go after and nitpick every detail of what I had stated, to try to twist away from McCain.

BTW when you come with this.
Doesn't look to much like wanting to get along. Don't cut me slack, even down and out I don't need 'slack' from you.

Nope simply showing your side of things would make things worse....
I guess pointing out that even more would lose their houses, making the situation worse is a bad thing in your eyes.

I am not advocating for either side, both sides suck. I however would gladly advocate for those who would lose their houses over those who in all reality will only lose a few dollars in bragging rights.

Maybe if I get any worse with my health you'll actually stand a chance, until that day I suggest you do a little thinking before you post.

Jazz, at least to me, your tone above suggests Grim is somehow blowing things out of proportion regarding his health. I can only say a few things: (1) How the hell does anyone know, but Grim?; (2) Don't think so, from private conversations with him; and (3) You may want to check this particular line.

In other news, a very interesting prospective from a letter sent to my former hometown rag. Food for thought.

Sorry for the ungainly redaction - done in order to preserve the woman's privacy. I hadn't thought of this - the very thing that Palin and "Mr. 911" Giuliani snidely derided in their paean to her homecoming queen's party is something vital, the heart of Alexis de Tocqueville's belief in the necessity of an engaged citizenry for a truly participatory democracy.

Or, hell, another decent quote, regarding the importance of grassroots work, at the community level:

    The typical grim crap.

    Me trying to get along?

You can't be agreeable to even the most innocent posts.

It's not about me winning grim, it's about you fighting.

You've made more posts to me than just those 2 quoted ;)

I can be agreeable, however when you came back with how you did simply because I showed the flaw in your reasoning, that will get a response.

Instead of simply stating you understood it, you came back with.

No Northpoint. I thought he was sick. He just starts crying about his health in his comments so I cut him some slack. I could plainly tell that he was sick and apologized and walked away.

I went out of my way to be agreeable. There is no denying that. I just made a mistake when I was nice to him, that's all. He'll be argumentative until the day he dies.

I was not 'crying' I was RIPPING on you.

Yes out of your way being 'agreeable'

    ---
BTW showing how your post, if we did what it stated would make thing worse is not being argumentative.

To be honest, I don't know what's going on between the two of you, any more than I know what's going on between Rob (Jones) and Harold (Hmansfield). Because I've been in enough scraps on this forum, my eyes tend to glaze anymore when seeing scraps like this. Your use of quotations marks, and "made out" in:

just seemed out of line, to me. As described to me, and after doing a bit more research on what he has, what Grim has is life-threatening, and nothing to play with. We can all disagree, here, but we're also all human.

Listen young man, some day when you actually have to work, er, earn a living, you too will find out what it is like to pay your "fair share"... I have and then some.

I'm probably paying for your internet connection right now for all I know.

I've meant to imply nothing and have been completely consistent. What I said was that Biden would like to portray himself as not being wealthy, yet, by definition as Pizzaboy has pointed out Biden IS wealthy according to his partners own tax plan. And given he's in that 5% it really does not matter what the dollar amount is, now does it?

The message here is, don't preach about how humble you are and then try to take that away from those of us in a similar income bracket.

Oh, that's not my claim. That's the "average Americans" claim. That's Obama's claim. That's pizzaboys claim... That's that "5%" claim.

    I am.

Oh, but it does make you rich according to Obamas and Biden. Their own tax plan says so.

But, hey, I have been consistently repeating that garbage you guys eat up for months now.

Well, McCain does not have money. His wife does. And there is a pre-nup, so I am not sure what your point is. Let us also not forget that it is not McCain that is gallivanting about telling everyone that he's just like them. He's not. In some cases he's better, but he's not telling people that. Obama is.

It's all relative. It's relative to where you live, how you live and what you are accustomed to. People with $400k are doing no better than people with $250k. Your lifestyle is supported by your income, the higher the income, the higher the lifestyle... People making $250k live just as much pay check to paycheck as people making $50k. In many cases, even worse than that as the people in that position typically have more people counting on them than just their family for their income.

WTF is it with you guys and this class wars thing? Get off your arse and start earning some money. Demanding that I some how surrender what I make because I make more than you is just silly. Its sad that American society has sunk to the level of a bunch of whiners and entitlements rather than the once hard working ethic that drove our nation to the top!

Anyone touting this fair share bull shit should be ashamed of themselves.

    Bush rescues Wall Street.

Dow up 3.1 pct, S&P up 3.5 pct, Nasdaq up 2.4 pct

Sweeping government measures to rescue the financial system and restore confidence in shaky markets spurred a huge relief rally in U.S. stocks today.
