I need to raise $2000 to buy some video equipment for a business I want to start. I cant program or design. I do write content, but It would take months to make the money that way. I cant find enough clients. How else can I make money, realistically?
Find several ghostwriting jobs to do. Charge $500-$1000 each. Then do the work. If you have problems finding jobs, post on multiple marketing and writing forums what you're looking for and what you're willing to do for what price. If you need more personalized help pm me.
I remember reading a thread a while back where this guy made around $1000 or something in one month from simply outscourcing work. He would find work either here or on a freelancer site, then pass it on for someone else to do cheaper. This means he would make profit on every website just for finding another freelancer. If you did this sort of thing in several different topics (programming, content creation, designing etc) then you should make a decent amount. It's really helpful if you have some money you can already invest as well. Try buying content packs and selling them on for a profit. You could create a load of websites, but this would take quite a while to make some serious income and I'm guessing you want the money ASAP.
I make $1,000 per ghostwriting ebook consistently. Obviously if you look for work where people are so cheap that they want you to work for peanuts you'll end up getting paid less than $100 an ebook. Business is about supply and demand. If you supply what they demand easily then you won't be very successful. People can smell desparation like sharks smell blood in the water. They'll move in for the kill rapidly. Sometimes you need to tell a client thankd but no thanks and move on. People instinctively know that they get what they pay for. It's easy to see anywhere in commerce. Some people go to McDonalds, some opt for Applebees, and some go to really nice restaurants. I charge $20 a page for ebook ghostwriting. I've seen people charge less than $5 per page. I've also seen what they produce when clients I turned down brought the cheap ebook to me to rewrite for them at my original price. Your "I wish" comment displays a lack of belief in yourself. If you don't believe your writing is worth $20 a page then it isn't...no matter how good it actually is. I generally write a 60 page high quality ebook in about a week...while I'm doing full time internet marketing. At any given time I usually have between 5 and 10 new projects going. This doesn't count the normal day to day work I do to maintan my business. So my realistic suggestion is that you drop the poverty mindset and pick up a prosperity mindset. If writing content isn't what you're good at then find something you are good at. Money is everywhere. You just have to reach out and pick up however much you want. But you have to believe you can do that first.
$2000 is easy. Just find a credit card with "0% APR till April 2009" and use it as an interest-free loan.
Was my job suggestion really that outlandish? Some people can create jobs for themselves, while others need a job to be created for them.
Hello - Why not create a simple web site for yourself, advertising your talents? It is not hard to do, and definately won't cost you anything more than the time it takes to created, and maybe $10-$20 per month for hosting from someone like GoDaddy. You would be able to offer quotes for your work via email, and accept payments by Paypal which is free to set up. Good luck!
I have a website in my sig. I am not good at marketing, thus I get very little traffic from it. Most of my clients come from DP; just not enough of them.
Gotta be completely honest, here: If you think it's hard to find clients for writing, you're REALLY going to have a hard time breaking in to the video production business. Making videos is easy. Making a living making videos is TOUGH. This is going to sound insensitive but if you're truly struggling with coming up with $2K to go in to the video business, you really should get a job. Make it a job with a video production company. You'll learn more about the business, gain valuable experience, and make important connections.
OK!! I have a job...avery good job. I just want to do this part time as a hobby that makes a little money.
