hello , i was wondering maybe i should start offer hosting services as reseller so i was first thinking paid hosting, maybe video site hosting or so , but theres many people offer this stuff dirt cheap, how can you compete good :/

then i thought about free hosting , atleast people would bossiply take it, so i wonder how does free hosting providers make money out from it, since in business only few just give you something wanting nothing in exchange.

all suggestion , info and other stuff are all welcome thnx

Well you can make money by putting your advertisements on their websites or offering them upgrades to their accounts. Make money selling them domain names at a higher price, but giving them free hosting.

    Just a few suggestions.

Another thing people do is make the free account very limited, and then say "if you need more space, click here to upgrade" and that is a HostGator affiliate link. That worked for a while and then HostGator outlawed the practice.

Then others build up a big membership and just sell the business and customer database at the SitePoint marketplace.

Simply by advertising on your website with banners or popups. Usually its free to give you a taste of their services for a short while and then they will ask you to upgrade to a premium account and to pay for the service.

What about sites which provide ads free hosting? How do they generate their revenue?

There are many reason why they give free hosting, here is the top reasons:
    1. for Forums moderator or members.
    2. Affiliates.
    3. Website Advertisement in every account hosted wth free.

Whatever you do, do not use EasyCGI's affiliate program. Worst company to deal with.

Free hosting probably makes money after 1 - 2 years, after 3 months and half, soon 4 i only lost money ... no affiliate sales, nothing, so there are no easy money, if you place ads on the users pages many will go to a host without ads sooner or later when they will find it or a friend will sugest a new one because the host with ads is ... bad and not professional.

Most free hosts die in the first 6 months or next in a year , those who are online more than 3 years are the profitable hosts, also probably 3 % of those created.

I talk about serious, true free hosts not 1 cent resellers of byet and so on.
