Hi there. I am new to DP and I got banned on my first day by posting on the wrong place... I guess?

Can you please tell me what did I do wrong?

I got banned for the reason: 7-Day Buy/Sell/Trade Ban

    Here is the thread:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?p=9141946#post9141946

It will be very helpful to know why I got banned? I was just ask to PM me for details...

    Thanks in advance.

Yes you can, but the OP said to pm him/her, and you replied to the thread for the OP to pm you when you should of just pm the OP. My advice is to never reply to a thread stating only 'PM ME' and other phrases like that.

    Well, I have one doubt....
There are loads of people doing the same thing as OP. How come only 1/100 is banned?? Is it based on lottery method lol :D

For instance, there are 4 people writing the same thing before the OP in that thread and it turns out to be only the OP who's held??
I am not criticizing or blaming nor am i taking sides of OP...... It was just a doubt, thats all!

Hmmm.... Might be. But still, you will have to agree that not all of them are caught.

Asking people to PM you is againts the rules for some bizzare reason. I got banned for 7 days for a similar reason. Well I say reason....

Maybe I can take this opportunity to clarify. The OP has already mentioned to PM him for details. PM send type of posts are just space fillers. You send the OP a PM, who else will want to bother on what happen between you and the OP? The PM sent post is useless, it is between you and the OP.

Most of the time, PM me, PM send etc are used to boost the post counts of members. We are in a public forum, do have some considerations for others. An entire row of PM send messages aren't actually informative readings and threads and threads of these dilute the information that the forum provides and ultimately results in less members who are serious into visiting the forum. It is a vicious cycle.

BTW you are right you aren't posting at the correct place. Thread Moved.
