Will Someone Explain PushToAuction For Me?

    Hi,

I haven't had any offers on my domains at Sedo, so was considering using PushToAuction.com to help me get an intial offer. Would someone explain how it works to me, and would you recommend using this, or not?

    Kind regards, Will

I have only recently listed a couple of domains with them, or shall I say through them.
Basically, from what I read off their site, you agree to start any domain listed with them for $60 at SEDO (auction).
In exchange, they provide a domain audience (mostly reseller, I suspect), that might bid on your domain,
therefore giving you a chance to push it to auction.
(presumably faster than just going it alone)

But putting a bid in of $60... doesn't that mean you'll make practically no profit on your domain taking all the fees into account?

Assuming you have the domain parked with SEDO as well as for sale there, the fees should be a total of 10%, including escrow services.
    $54 would be your take.
If the domain is NOT parked there at the time of the transaction, I think there is an additional $50 (?).
$4 would be your take in this case.

I own PushToAuction.com. The idea behind the site is a seller will post a domain that they are willing to push to auction at Sedo for $60. It is for sellers who just want their domain in a Sedo auction quickly. It gets you more visibility than having it on Sedo alone because it doesn't get lost in the crowd of over 11 million domains listed on their platform. Otherwise it could take you months to get an offer that allows you to push the domain to auction, even if it is a good domain. I have seen domains sent to auction within 10 minutes of being listed on PushToAuction.com.

Just because it starts at $60 doesn't mean it will end there; for the most part domains listed at Sedo hit what is called their "fair market value." I've seen domains listed on PushToAuction.com sell for well over $1k. If you want some reassurance that auctions at Sedo do well (if you aren't familiar with Sedo's reputation), check the "Past Auctions" category on PushToAuction.com and see what people who used the service have earned.

The incentive for the people making the $60 offers is that they know they will get to purchase the domain quickly for a fair price. I make reasonable offers for domains on Sedo all the time, only to get countered with offers over 100x their fair market value... a complete waste of time. If I make offers on domains listed on PushToAuction.com I know every offer I make will result in a auction where I pay a fair price. It brings some degree of efficiency to an otherwise chaotic marketplace.

If you have any other questions please feel free to ask.

    why hello there idevlabs.
You never know who you'll bump into here.:)

I personally do see the value in the service that your site provides.
I am sure that not all names, and perhaps not even most of the names
that start at $60 end up selling with just one bid. That was just a worst
    case scenario we were addressing.
I should have probably mentioned that above.

As with most auctions, starting a SEDO auction at the minimum (in this case $60)
probably results in more exposure for that domain.

this is a good thread, bookmarked it, anyways i am also gradually getting frustrated on how things on sedo develop for my domains, do you have specific qualifications for a domain to qualify for PushToAuction.com ?

The only requirements are it has to be listed for sale on Sedo, and you can't have your minimum offer set above $60. Otherwise anything goes.

Good question. You have to be willing to push to auction at whatever the min is for that particular ccTLD. I believe .cn is currently set at $160. A lot of other ccTLDs like .in and .de are still only $60 though.

Edit: The contact form has been fixed and I am receiving emails again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Wait a minute, who pays the $60 to push the domain to auction, the seller? Or potential buyers?

I hear that you have to get a $60 offer in order to have it in auction at Sedo.

Yea, if a buyer is interested in a domain, he'll make a $60 offer on Sedo. Once you have that offer you are able to start the auction.

To begin that way in sedo you keep minimum offer as $60
So what do you keep the price then ?
It can be anything right .

    Thanks,
