Do you recommend Brushing Teeth then Mouthwash or Mouthwash then Brushing Teeth? Do you floss? i dont, i have very close together teeth, will i have trouble flossing? I know theres some dental people here, well today my dentist took an x-ray and told me i have an abscess and showed me the x-ray but i couldn't really see what he was talking about and i told him i have zero pain there. But i do have an external abscess on the side of the gum in that exact area. Wouldn't antibiotics be the first treatment for an external abscess? also could it be lanced? The one he mentioned had him talking of extracting the tooth, i want to avoid that. Any other tips are appreciated. Im British, yeah yeah, were not exactly famed for our teeth but i actually give a damn about mine now im getting older.
Brush teeth then mouthwash fool... Flossing you should do after meals etc...as well as brushing...but I don't floss, it hurts.
Well i was reading that mouthwash washes away the flouride in the toothpaste. Do i swallow all of the mouthwash after swirling it? Should the floss be used right up to touching the gum? will that irritate it?
brush then mouthwash, at least twice a day. Thats what I do...but honestly, I forget sometimes, really need to build it into my routine again.
FLOSS, FLOSS, FLOSS Flossing is just as important as brushing. The food stuck between your teeth will decay and cause bad breath and the enamel to break down. Try rinsing with salt water or peroxide to help with the abscess. How to use dental floss: An animated guide to dental flossing technique.
Thanks guys for the good advice. My routine = brushing twice daily, mouthwash in the morning, occasional flossing, suger free gum now too.
I only mouthwash after I have finished with my brushing. For floss, I rarely do it and it is only once in a blue moon. However, if you are very particular about maintaining healthy teeth, you should always go for dental check-up so that the tough stains can be removed.
I started flossing about 43 years ago and never looked back. If my then dentist hadn't introduced that form of oral hygiene, I probably would have lost all my teeth by now due to gum disease which is often the result of food particles left to fester between the teeth. I can't imagine not flossing, even after just a snack. My teeth are also close together , so I always look for a good quality, waxed floss.
Brushing morning and night is the best method for maintaining your oral hygiene. Immediate dental care usually control all sorts of teeth problem.
Unfortunately i have the one problem tooth that even after the dentist has scale and polished my teeth within a couple weeks that one tooth looks stained again. Im suprised that any dentist ive ever seen has never once talked about flossing, ive started now though, my gums mostly look pink again instead of some redness. I make sure i brush twice daily, absolutely.
Simple and best way to keep your oral hygiene in good shape is to brush your teeth with medium hard toothbrush after every meal or at least twice per day. Out of the two times one should be before going to bed. the brushing technique also should be proper-- it is up and down strokes not side to side stroke.
