Hi fellow DPers, I am working with Savvy Resource Publications, and we're coming out this winter with a new Magazine full of just about any and all kinds of resources. The magazines will be distributed to thousands of people nationwide on a quarterly basis. We have ad spaces at the best rates for magazine publications! Below you will find our price list, and you will discover that we have the most affordable and most competitive prices of advertising than in any other magazine. We have prices to fit anyone's budget, and your business can be featured in the magazine for only $75! Not to mention Advertising is a tax write off, and this pays for itself! Feel free to PM Me with any questions. You may also use your ad space to present an article done by us, or one of your own at no extra charge. We gladly take Payments through Paypal, check, or money order. Please PM Me if interested. I will then send you a contract with a contract number by the end of the following business day to refer to, and we will send a proof of your ad before the magazine goes to print. Why do adspace on websites have the lowest rates? Why do advertisers pay meager $0.50 for 1000 views whereas a magazine's CPM, in terms of circulation, is probably hundreds of $$? Why do advertisers pay such exhorbitant sums of money to get their ads on mags even though they don't know whether anybody will see them and yet they pay web publishers only if somebody clicks them? Why don't they pay mags only if someone buys a product through the ads on the mags? Why?Why?Why?
Normally advertisers believe that magazines have more focused and attentive readership than a website, also because the internet has almost no barrier to entry which makes competiton for ad revenue heavy. Magazines on the other hand (while the number is growing recently) are a limited club due to the cost of printing. Finally a magazine is a physical good. I keep mags that I like for upto 5 years... that means for 5 years I might see your advertisement. Thats really good stickyness, whereas a website with similar interest might be gone in 1-2 years. (the reality is only about 12% of subscribers hold onto publications for an extended period). I might take an ad spot.. if I can see some distribution stats.
sorry buddy, the web bubble popped in 2000. You are toooo late to sell advertising in magz to internet-based advertisers. Lots of magazines were like that (The Red Herring) making millions. Now they are no longer around or they were sold for measley sums to private citizens who get kicks out of owning a magazine.
Yes, Thank you for explaining for me. Actually to answer your other questions and comments....Dragons5- I have been in the print advertising business for over 10 years, however this will be my first publication. McLaughlin- That's not true. There are still advertisers out here that work online as well as offline, and know the benefits of advertising in magazines. RedGiant- To add something to what dragon5 has already explained, The magazines are completely free to consumers. The advertisers pay for the printing, layout, putting together and the mailing of the magazines. You will find that my prices are cheaper than most if not all of other magazines out here. As you can see, you can at least get featured for only $75... Hope this helps.
I've owned 2. Any distribution stats or at least your distribution strategy? where do you expect them to go and the readers to come from? same city/metro/state/region/nation/world???
