Hi guys, I am looking at having 1 page redesigned to look more professional, colorful, user friendly and just get that web 2.0 look. The address is http://www.sitedango.com/tools/do_follow_blogs.php I am wanting to keep google adsense so make sure you take that into consideration and I want my text near the top for SEO purposes. Basically everything you see on the page I want to keep (disclaimer, what makes the list special, add blog, search, and of course the listings. Contest will be open until I find a winner and I will check in daily to provide feedback. Good Luck
I started this at work but I won't be able to finish it until tommorrow as it's home time now. I thought I'd post it anyway to see what you think of it so far (and in case the contest closes before I get a chance to finish it!) Feedback appreciated on it so far.
some nice efforts so far. But it still feels a bit lifeless (if that makes any sense). The color scheme can have more than 1 color as well. emz has some nice shape to it as well. But keep sending in the entries. Thanks
Still looking for that killer design . I had a fairly good one via PM but no one else can bebfit from what I liked or did not like on that one. Therefore all entries must be on the thread to be considered.
this is website design, we are putting time and effort to work on our concepts.... and fairly not to be just copied it by somebody.... anyways, goodluck, as i woudn't want put my effort into nothin'. Ch, if u haven't found your "killer design"... my design-proposal is still open... i will just put it on other contest, that it might win
I can see both points of view here. The contest holder wants all entries on the thread so they can let other people know what they like / dislike etc. Maybe it's just the colour scheme, or the layout etc. But on the other hand, the designer doesn't want their design to be copied and have the copier be chosen as a winner. My stand point is, I don't mind posting my entries in the thread. If the contest holder likes certain things about it and gives other people inspiration on their designs then that's fine. I'm of the opinion that if someone does copy my design and the contest holder likes it, they'll pick mine over theirs because they know they're the copier. I may be naive in that notion, but that's my risk to take. Another point I'd like to make is it's sometimes useful to US as contest entrants to know what the contest holder likes / dislikes. I'm sure you have been there yourself where you've seen someone elses entry, the contest holder has pointed out things they like and dislike about that entry and you've taken that and applied it to the design you're working on WITHOUT copying that design. Yes? No?
Totally agree, it works out the best for designers aswell as the client. If your the best designer in the thread...then you will win hands down even if you do take inspiration from someone else's design.
He said that, not me lol Seriously though, a bit of inspiration from someones design is ok as long as the contest holder has mentioned liking a particular aspect of that design, and it's not a carbon copy. (eg. colour schemes). If it's blatently copied without any input from the contest holder then that's just wrong and shouldn't be taken into consideration. Anyway, sorry to the contest holder for spamming their contest with text - I'll go now and let it be used for what it's meant for
Couldnt agree more. Why would I choose someone who has copied another over the original. Its called ethics but I think Myself and other contestants can same time and effort if we can get ideas of each other. If your design is perfect I would just choose it instead of providing feedback.
No worries. Thankyou for your several designs. Here is a thought for the debate: Ideas are never completely original they are founded upon our knowledge, our inspirations, and our experiences. So even peoples "original designs" would be very similar to another design somewhere on the web. Back to the thread. I dont mind your design emz but the blue seems much to dominant. I might try and find a few templates that can be used for inspiration. Thanks
