How to invest 25000 USD in online business

I am in online business for 3 years. I own 4 domains and 5 pages. I have invested only a little bit money to my business. Now I have some profit from in few hundreds USD. I earn from AdSense and link selling. If I count invested time it is nothing. I am doing this business only like my hobby, because I have full time job.

I have free 25000 USD and I think about possibility to invest these money to online business. And possibly I want to leave my job and do online business.

I don't want to earn some fast money. I want invest for long term. I don't want to employ somebody. Only me and my wife possibly. I have some experiences as I wrote above, but I have never work with such big investments.

I want to some advices from you:

    1. Is it clever to leave job and do online business?
    2. Where to invest my money, and ow long it take to return investment?
    3. Is it better to invest in quantity, or quality (less domains, with excellent traffic is better way I think)?

My idea is to do everything important myself. I am programmer, and I don't have problems to write scripts, or install existing scripts. I possibly hire people for promotion, and content creation.

I know that it is not easy to earn some money. You need some idea, how to do it, some luck and lot of effort.

!!!I don't want some quick to be rich schemes, in style buy my e-book and you will earn big money!!!

You could start out checking the sites for sale, some of these make good money and as a programmer you could take that idea and develop it or create something else similar.

As far as programming is concerned, for web php should be good and as far as your questions are concerned,

    1. It is provided you are earnign enough from your online thing. Burning boats without a backup isn't a good idea.
    2. Thats the million dollar question and you have to find that out, because ideas are what makes a good business.

You should start part-time and quit only when it is self-sustaining.
Plus for me online business is a hoax. I think what you should look for is to use the online business but as a brick-and-mortar business. For instance I am in web hosting and internet marketing. Some do these online from their houses but I have an office, employees, and believe me it is more rewarding than just going solo in one's apartment. Very few make it at becoming extremely wealthy with an online-only business.

I would not quit your job until you have some money coming in.

Cause if the business doesnt work out..no job or business.

I'm looking for an investor in my business. I guess it really comes down to what sort of profit margins and expected return date that you're seeking. Though $25,000 won't last very long. It would barely cover two months of marketing.

Have you thought of contacting Venture Capitalists and investing with them? They seek out new business and put millions into them. You may get a healthy return (think Google) over a period of 3 years or so.

Not bad idea, but I would like to "have it in my hands"

    For others:
Full time or part time: I have done it as part time job (hobby) now, and it is not enough. But you have true, that it is impossible to live from 2 USD per day from AdSense with wife and 2 children. I must earn enough to pay for my family bills, before I quit my job.

Find a demand and fill it. Create a new software or product for which there is need or for which demand can be created.

    1. not really clever but ... in my country, probably yours too, with 25.000 $ yes, but you also need the good idea, first find it.
    2. hard to say... because i don't know what you like, i can't give you an advice here, best is to look around and probably the idea will come.
    3. both, but very few money in quantity and more in quality.

I am looking for area for investments. Here are possible areas I know:

    1. Buying, promoting and monetizing existing sites with possible sell with profit
    2. Buying and selling domains
    3. Creating, promoting and monetizing my sites
    4. Affiliate marketing
    5. Creating sites for customers

Do you have other ideas suitable for me?
And what are advantages and disadvantages each idea?

I don't think it would be clever to quit your job until you start earning a decent amount online.
Whether you want to invest in quantity or quality is up to you, of course investing in quality is very risky (what if you bought a site overpriced or if earnings drop?) and quantity means less risk failure but more work to do. I'd go with a compromise.

I've been building and marketing my own sites since 2000, and I've learned a great deal about starting a business online, as well as marketing them. I currently work for web development/marketing firm that spends over $200K per month on advertising alone. So through my experience, I hope I can give the best advice I can.

    1. I suggest you do your online business as a side-job until it becomes stable enough to pay for all your bills.

    2. This question is hard to answer because there are so many opportunities out there. You can make money in many different niches on the web. The key is having a "good" idea and implementing it. Many people have "good" ideas, but most of the time, they don't know how to implement it effectively. This is the reason why most businesses fail. Sit down and draw up a business plan that outlines every aspect of the business.

    3. I would definitely invest in quality! Try to focus on 1 or 2 main projects, and put your heart into those. You'll only spread your effort thin if you try to focus on too many sites or businesses. Plus, don't you want your name connected to a business that represents quality and value?
