Islam,The Religion of Peace: Thread to remove misconceptions!

I would like to great all of you with the Islamic Greetings "Peace Be On You".

After browsing through the Politics and Religion Section on this forum, i felt it was necessary to start a thread to remove the misconceptions about Islam that some of the members have.

The following 2 rules have to be followed or it will result in a complaint which in turn will result in a ban!

NO PERSONAL ATTACKS
No foul words towards each other or any other religion

Some other rules for this thread to avoid problems:

When you Quote ANY holy book PLEASE give the reference, weather that be he Quran, the Bible, The Anjeel (Gospel) etc.

If you are questioned about what you post please do reply.

I advise everybody to show that they are mannered and respect each other!

Muslims should follow the teachings of the Quran and Sunnah and be an example to everyone else on this thread.

Questions about sensitive topics like Jihad and Women Rights ARE WELCOMED, in fact they are recommended since they are amongst the most misunderstood by non-Muslims and many Muslims.

 

i love the ideas of the core islam ways.

the ways of
"give and be given"
"do good to be done good to"
"the bad you do comes back to you"


but i do not like the islam leaders, that try to stir up war between people.
why should hardcore-islamis attack hardcore-christs?

in basic christs & moslems think and want the same.

have a nice big family, do some work and live in peace and prosperty.


i have been to Turkey and Morocco for traveling by car and by bike. and i got treaded the best possible ways by islam people that did not know me.

 

I was just thinking that I haven't seen a 'Religion of Peace' thread in a while.

 

I think Muslims time would be better spent telling those bombing people, Executing homosexuals, Stoning women, Beating women and killing their children about their "misconceptions" regarding the teachings of Islam.

You are going to have a hard time convincing any objective observer that Islam is a religion of anything but hatred and violence.

 

Actions speak louder than all words and quotes from religious texts may ever do. Be good, be peaceful, be friendly and reasonable and opinions might change.

Talking about women, i have seen both those who are very free to do as they please and those who are oppressed and controlled.

It is more important to be a good human first. Being a good member of your religion [Any religion] should only come next. When this importance is neglected and violated, problems arise.

 

Be an ambassador for your ppl.

Keep it simple.

 

You're probably talking to a hostile crowd MrFazee, not due to anything that has been done by good muslims, but due to the actions of those that have perverted the religion to vioolent ends of a political nature. Nonetheless I hope it works out for you, my daughter spent time in the mideast and agrees with what you say.

FWIW, many Christians have similarly fouled the opinion of others against them through actions that are not consistent with the nature of the teachings of the guy they claim to follow. You are not alone in having an audience predisposed against what is no doubt a true message that unfortunately is sidetracked by massive and unforgettable variances from the worthwhile text they claim to follow.

 

Dont tell what to do in other's house that is miles away from you.

If everyone could stick their nose where it belongs, the world would do fine. They lived for centuries like that, and now someone wants to fix them? What for? Dont like their regime? Dont travel there. Simple as that.

 

If you could tell the Muslims in the UK the same, it would be better. What answer do you have for this?

 

i have been to many islamic countries and i agree that REAL islam is a religion of peace...im not a religious man so i cant comment on holy books but ive had lots of contact with muslims and i have been to many muslim mosques and talked to "muftis" (spelling?) about islam and about jihad and all i got was messages of peace and tolerance...

islam gets a bad reputation mainly because of politics and agendas and peoples fears about something that is "different"...

if anything real islam stands for moral values and decency and good just like any real follower of any religion...

 

Well, I dont have any problems if you say the same in UK since UK isnt my homeland. If you cant - its your problem, aint it? Dont welcome all people of the world and then blame them for bad behaviour, maybe better start off from yourself?

Human rights are universal, well, They are for civilised nations. People aren't going to turn a blind eye to aberrant injustices just because those injustices are perpetrated in land surrounded by a different imaginary line. If someone is beating women, Murdering children for the crime of being raped and executing homosexuals then that disgusting piece of filth needs to be stopped.

What ever happened to don't like it, don't travel there? One rule for you and one for us? Hypocrite.

As a mater of interest could you answer the following questions with agree or disagree please N_F_S.
1. Homosexuals should be executed
2. Unfaithful women should be executed
3. Children who have been raped should be killed to protect thier families honour
4. People who leave islam should be executed
5. Muslim women who marry non-muslims should be executed.

 

Ok lets take what you said step-by-step:

1. Bombing people: When you say bombing people Islam is against the killing of innocent people

"Killing one innocent person is as evil as killing the whole humanity and saving one life is like saving the whole humanity." (See the Qur’an, chapter 5 verse 32).

The above proof is sufficient for this regard.
Now the next thing you mentioned:

Homosexuality: It is not rocket science to know that Homosexuality is one thing that CAN result in the end of humanity. Since it prevents the natural process of birth from occurring. As a result Islam takes the measures to ensure that such a thing does not happen, and a death penalty in this case takes the lives of a few, the rest learn a lesson and it saves the lives of millions of children yet to be born.

The 3rd thing you said:

Stoning Women: Yes Islam does say to stone both men and women to death in situations of extra-marital affairs, that is sexual relations outside of marriage. Which is to prevent such a thing to spread in society, since in most cases such a thing results in a Divorce, and a divorce means that the children will not have what they should get, both a mother and a father. Which could have severe implications and could destroy a child's future. Again it is a punishment will cost some lives and it will teach a lesson and warden off the rest. The fact is extra-marital affairs are not taken lightly in the west, why is it that your politicians are a subject to scrutiny what it comes to such issues, it is because of the affect on society such a thing has.

The 4rth thing you said:

You are correct that it is important to be a good person, but Islam is not only a religion it is a way of life, to be a good muslim you have to be a good person.

You done exactly what i knew you would do and missed my point entirely. what i'm saying is that if it really isn't islamic to do these things don't waste your time telling us, Tell those doing it. If it really is non-islamic to beat children, execute people for having a private life and stone women to death condemn those actually doing it, Not those who simply highlight that it happens. If it really is non-islamic to beat children, execute gays and so on go to the mosque contentedge mentioned and tell them about thier misconceptions regarding islam.

EDIT: Sorry, I misread your post... Are you actually admiting that it is islamic practice to kill gays and alulterous women? if so, Eaxctly where are our misconceptions?

 

Should all homosexuals be killed or just Islamic homosexuals?

 

I am asking in reference to Islam. I am not condoning or condeming. I am just asking in regards to the previous reply.
