Getting Started In Social Media

I'm looking for some feedback on the article, is it viral enough?
What other things can I do to get the most Diggs possible???

My best advice on social bookmarking websites to get even
more traffic is before you even start promoting your own
websites on them is to find other peoples bookmarks on the
site and rep them and also add them as your friend try to do
this for around 50 to start with and then start bookmarking
your own sites while still building up friends.

Remember to try and add to a community instead of just
spamming it.

I thought your article headline was pretty good. Also laura_d’s advice was good.

The problem you have is that your digg.com account is very weak. You have only dugg 130+ stories. I got my digg account in the top 700 users within 2 months (although I could have done it quicker)

You need to:

Submit content regularly (not just your own content either)
Vote for all your friends shouts
Vote for your friends submissions
Weed out any people who don’t vote for you in return use this script to check: (http://checkfriends.appspot.com/ )

It’s not that difficult to get in the top 500 – top 100 is harder, but it is quite boring.

The layout of your page is good as is your headline, so it’s just a matter of building up your digg account. Most people try to add the top users straight away as friends, but if you digg for long enough they will add you.

Why are you doing it to get traffic or incoming links? If it’s for traffic, then you might as well build up an account on StumbleUpon as well. You’ll rarely get anybody linking from there though.

Have you tried cracked.com? http://www.cracked.com/pipeline/ this might be of use to you. It’s good for comedy stuff.

 

Wow... pretty good headline. Just digged it. Work on your profile more (in terms of friends etc) as well as promoting your actual digg.
