pakistan is the worst nation in terms of human rights and all. This is already a failed nation, which definitely would have no good future. This country hasn't done anything good for the humanity. Not a single contribution in the world prosperity came from Pakistan. When it comes to terrorism and extremism and anything bad, pakistan is your best friend. 60% of the population support taliban and islamic extremists this nation elected zardari as their president. This is the world's most corrupted person who ever lived. It really tells you a lot about this country and their future. I wish the western nations step up their demands in encouraging women rights in pakistan.
Karachi is a largely populated city that has some very tough streets. There are tens of thousands prostitutes walking the streets and a person could spend $2.00 instead of raping. If this many rapes are actually occurring then the government needs to hire more officers for street crimes.
I spoke with a Pakistani guy last night and he told me the same thing what you said about their president that Pakistan has elected a criminal for president. We have a whole bunch of criminals and war criminals in the white house and it aint any good for the country. It is really sad that Pakistan is a country with huge problems. During the Soviet - Mujahedeen/Taleban war US supplied all those militiants in Pakistan with weapons to fight the Soviets. Now the bad guys are armed and are doing whatever they want and it is really hard for the government t control the country. That's why the crime rate is sooo high in Pakistan - weak government. 100 rapes a day is way too much.

Which Karachi they are talking about? The doctor mentioned in that report says he believes that 100 rapes are done each day. He doesn’t have any proof of that. Just making a spicy statement to a foreign newspaper to get into the news. Electronic media is very strong/nosey here; even the rape cases in remote rural areas get full coverage in the media to expose the culprits. Why on earth will they keep quite on 100 rapes/day in Karachi?? This would be very hot news for them to cover, don't you think. Those considering Pakistan a failed state should consider their own crime stats first. Where 18 women get victimized every hour. And that's 2006 stats. I'm not saying that Karachi is a rape free city, psychopaths are in every society but that doctor mentioned in the article is speaking out of his a***.
