Hi all I'm new on this site and just wondering if anyone has any good advise on becoming an affiliate, have looked through a lot of websites and can't work out on which products i want to aim for targeting, i am aware that mobile phones and laptops are well catered for and just wanted to see if anyone has any good ideas on which area i should aim to start on.
I am just in need of a little help on getting started.
    Many thanks
    Jim

    Hi Jim,

Welcome to DP and welcome to Affiliate Marketing. I'm somewhat of a newbie myself. I've only been involved with it for about 3 months now. However, my income has really taken off. I'm now making enough where I could quit my day job.

I'm hosting a competition here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1028978 to help some new people get stated. You may check that out.

My best advice is to join a coaching program like WA of PPC Coach and follow their instructions rather then losing tons of money testing things.

Hi Jim and welcome. Do you have any ideas on how you are going to be promoting/marketing affiliate campaigns as yet?

What's your website about? It's best to target affiliate programs that match your content, don't focus on matching your niche to your affiliate program, make the program fit the niche

I think you should promote dating sites as they have good conversions

PPC-coach is great, however you need to be an affiliate of 1 or more networks to put it to use. Also need some spare cash to use on PPC. If I knew the method of promotion he plans on using I could help a little more by helping get his applications approved at networks to helping earn the first few hundred dollars as I do with anybody that joins a network via my referral link, but it needs to be narrowed down some.

I have found ppc-coach to be very helpful. I have been apart of it for about 7 months. Yes, I am new to affiliate marketing, and have had loads of questions. But those on the PPC forum have been very helpful, and the techniques shared are invaluable.
