You say a PR of 8....I see a 2? By PR you must mean Personal Rank....yes your site ranks high in your heart. But comeon now. My blog which has been up for 5 months has a PR of 4 and I dont even try to advertise it. But please keep plugging away on your Directory. I wish you good things down the road. But get is sraight SEO gay.....the major directories cost for a reason!

Sorry Gay...I thought you were being serious. I have neither the time nor the energy to read about BS websites.....but now that we are on the same page.....I would be more than willing to pay 1 trillion doll-hairs to be included in your directory....in fact your .000125 page rank is bad azz!

 

What niche are you competing in? I would consider the main keyword you are trying to rank for and determine two things:

1. Will spending the $ help me gain it back signficantly in the long term

2. By having a link from this directory, will it even be enough to rank well in the SERPs or on the other hand, can you rank high without it?

Over the years, out of trial and error, I've spent thousands of dollars for links and directory submissions that often times never really helped me that much. On the other hand, I've gotten a lot of 1st page if not 1st place rankings doing hardly anything.

 

1) the keyword is "defensive driving" which is highly competative. right now I rank about #7 in the organic results. But I have better SEO campaigns (better backlinks, blogs, articles, all that) than some of those sites above me. But they are in the Yahoo/business.com directories as well as DMOZ. Well it is rediculously hard to get into DMOZ...but I feel if I pay to get into the others my organic ranking will jump a bit.

2) So i rank high without being in the directory but I am #2 for a couple of my other sites and their respective keywords...like "traffic school" and "drivers education". These other 2 site ARE in the Yahoo Directory. So really it would be a great experiment to get into the business.com and/or yahoo directory and see in I can jump up a few places for the keyword "defensive driving" hell its my bosses money not mine!

 

If you look in the buy and sell forum, you see people selling links on yahoo directory for $49, if somebody can get me a linking in business.com for a reasonable rate, please im me. thanks

So the consensus seems to be if your competitors are doing it maybe. But in the case of a new domain sandboxed by google then I can't help thinking it might be worth it. On the other hand maybe I should just wait until I get out of the sandbox.

you can discover useful articles and resources from experts.
For small business/ecommerce companies,
$299 reviewed fee is acceptable, not too much.

Many directories submitting service are much much cheaper... You could even submit to oover 500 sites for $50.
