Stop worrying about your PageRank and start building and promoting your site. Done.

 

If you are not building back links to your site you will never increase in page rank. After you write a new article spend some time building back links using social book marking.. forum posting.. comment posting.. etc.

 

You need to get more and more backlinks in order to get good pagerank.

First of all check whether your site do not have any broken links because once robot visits your website and find the broken links it rarely visit again to your site. Also try to get some links from the blogroll & forum signature..

When you get a lot of backlinks you need the Google PR Export to happen so you could see your new PR (if it has been increased).

 

one way to make backlinks is through web directories, any site that has a web directory in which you can register your link for free or for a sum of money, that would be an obvious start

So if I have a broken link somewhere on my website Google won't visit me again? So they penalize you for the fact that you may have misspelled something or you have removed a page and forgot to remove all links? Do you have any idea how stupid that assertion is? If Google really did that most of the internet would be banned.
