My guess is that they used to have a different domain name. Then they used a 301 redirect to this new domain. I checked their links too and the ones showing up definitely wouldn't give them PR6. The other possibility is that they used to have many more links, but they have since been taken down. The 301 redirect is more likely though.

so what this means is that with time or possibly the next PR update, their PR would drop?

That is a compete mystery. It only has around 45 PR0 backlinks.

No their PR won't necessarily drop. If they got this PR from using a 301 redirect from a different PR6 domain, the PR and rankings should stay.

This may be a good way to hide your backlinks from the competition. Build up your links very high, then redirect that domain to a new domain. Competitors would have a tough time copying your linking strategy.

No...that is all you can find.

You're not a search engine, and as such you cannot tell what is counted or of value, to assume you can is misguided at best. Search engines will never reveal everything they see....to do so would put them in peril.

A PR6 wont pass PR 6 to another site....at most is could pass would be PR5.

The guy probably bought a few PR 7 links....;)

Sem-Advance if a PR6 decided to move to a new domain and used a 301, the PR would transfer. I am not talking about a PR6 linking to another website.

If he bought some PR7 links they would definitely show up in his backlinks, unless they have since been taken down.

You are right a 301 redirect will pass the PR6

No not all links will show up.....popular fallacy but again no search engine reveals everything it sees or scores.

To do so would leave room for me to take more #1 positions and they don't want that lol.......

No not all links show up, but the most important ones do. Quit quoting my posts and trying to argue my points when you don't know what you're talking about.

PS - here is any easy one for you

police products - Top 3 Google for 59 months......never moved never dropped.

I have a few thousand other Google Top 3 you can try to move too....

But you are right....I dont know what I am talking about

lol...did i say anything about my rankings being good? If they were, would I bother using them as my signature here? You're nothing but an immature kid on here to pick fights. Then he brags about some obscure term that only 2900 people search for each month. Congrats on the low traffic ranking. Did you want a cookie or perhaps a gold star? What a joke. Get a life kid.

By the way, volk23 I apologize for SEM-Advance's ignorance and lack of respect for your thread. He cares more about starting fights than keeping threads relevant.

Like I said when you feel you can compete .........

That's one keyword term of 100s...

    And one site of 100s.........

Apparently it's your best ranking if its the one you need to brag about. That's quite amusing. You really should have some respect for other people's threads though. volk23 wants to know about how a site got PR6, not what rankings your sites have.

Back to the topic at hand....volk23 I used external software to check that domain and it shows mostly the same links as Google reports. So they don't have any hidden links that the search engines aren't reporting. One of the major search engines would report such a link. I would bet that they got the PR6 from a 301 redirect.

    Hi
Have a look at Google's cache. The snapshot is from 4 Sep 2008 11:02:59 GMT.

It is a completely different page:

Prof Bob's communication site classes. The Univesity of Houston-Downtown...
